Historia
At 47, newly divorced makeup artist Lela Bennett is dreading her next steps. Dating. Meeting people. Not letting herself go. But then she runs into Donovan James and tries something different - sleeping with her sexy crush from college. Unfortunately, in a post-orgasm stupor, Lela confesses she was in love with Donovan all those years ago. He responds by leaving while she sleeps. The next morning, her gray hairs are practically taunting her. She knows she has to get it together. Forget men. Embrace her age. Own her gray.

Why would I hide my sparkle!
Revisado: 08-23-23
The story is a blessing!. She radiates sexiness at a time when the world is telling us that grey hair means you sit on the side lines!.
Thanks for all the love, encouragement and zest for living told in this story!

Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Loved: Dark Skined but humble!
Revisado: 11-22-22
Viola, you hit something with this. I cringed at your early years of poverty. I grew up on welfare in Baltimore and always said we were Po, as in we couldn't buy a vowel to spell out the word Poor. And here I was cringing during the 9 yr old Viola's description of poverty. I had to take breaks. Even though I grew up poor, I didn't live as you did, and I have never heard these stories from my friends. Your story says if you are disavantaged - go gor it anyway!
You give the lens through which people can view when they write off little black kids; you help the world understand that poverty doesn't negate potential!
And I wanted to pipe this story through the sound system so the world could hear that dark women are beautiful. Just because you don't see us, choose us, or prioritize us doesn't strip us of our beauty! When you got the role in HTGAWM we all were seen. And I love you! This is a must-read book. I can't wait to meet you!

Historia
Two years ago, to everyone's surprise, Dillon Whitfield Black, the secret son of Reverend Curtis Black, boldly moved back home, married a woman named Raven, decided he was going to become a minister, and then founded a church right in the center of his living room. Today he's pastor of a 1,000-plus-member congregation, and new members are joining weekly. Sadly, behind closed doors Dillon is far from being a saint. He has become more like the man his father was 30 years ago - consumed with money, power, and lots of women.

The story grips you. It's not just the drama but it's the story behind the drama that helps you to get the full picture of why people make the choices they make. For me it was healing!

Historia
It's been four years since 28-year-old Alicia Black, daughter of Reverend Curtis Black, divorced her second husband, the most womanizing and corrupt man she has ever known. Since then, Alicia has been dating her first husband, Phillip Sullivan, a wonderfully kind and true man of God whom she'd hurt terribly by cheating on him. Alicia has worked hard to prove herself worthy of his trust once more, and when he asks her to marry him again, she couldn't be happier.

It was hard to out down!
Revisado: 05-05-16
I think she taught us a lesson without ever saying it. The author repeatly showed how we love God and are functional sinners in the same breath. You couldn't really hate the characters obvious sin because we all have that one area where we hear the Word but our lifesyles show that's all we did was hear it. I absolutely loved the story and thank the author for the life lessons. I think this story may have saved somebody's life.

Historia
We each have a destiny. Finding the courage to drive past the challenges, the pains, and even the shortcuts of life to the deeper purpose of living is to thrive in one's divine destiny. Most people have sensed destiny pulling them to just the right place or person. Whether it is the spouse you meet, the children you bear, or the promotion you receive, everyone has a purpose to pursue. Sometimes it is understanding our destiny that helps us accept what on the surface appears to be failure.

Life Changing
Revisado: 11-21-15
I loved the wisdom shared here. My Parents are deceased. This sounds like what they would have fed me to continue to develop me as an adult. I am older but I still crave Wisdom as it relates to achieving what my parents couldn't visualize. I plan to use what I learned as well as share the information with my adult children. I'm older but I haven't stopped working my strategy to be all that I can be.
Thanks Bishop Jakes
