Historia
In 1985, Stanley Kubrick encouraged Matthew Modine to keep a journal and take photographs while playing the lead role of Pvt. Joker - a combat correspondent - on the set of his Vietnam War film, Full Metal Jacket. In 2005, Modine published a limited edition book of his diary and photos which later became an interactive experience for the iPad. Now, with the Full Metal Jacket Diary audiobook, fans can listen to Modine as he performs his diary with sound effects and original music.

Fascinating Behind the Scenes Look
Revisado: 02-01-18
As a film critic, I have always been interested in evaluating how a movie makes me feel and how it compares to others. This journal, for the first time, has made me absolutely fascinated in the filmmaking process. That is, the way in which special effects are handled, the way scenes evolve and take shape over the course of a shoot, and the way actors/directors/crew interact when the cameras are not rolling.
This account of the history of FULL METAL JACKET also increased my reverence for Stanley Kubrick's talent (and convinced me that he was definitely a bit of a jerk, albeit a genius one, too). The film is a masterpiece and one of my favorites of all-time and learning about the details of how it was made gave me a lot of joy. This is a must-read for fans of the director or this film, and I will be eagerly seeking out stories like this about other favorite films of my own.

Historia
Michael is a gamer. And like most gamers, he almost spends more time on the VirtNet than in the actual world. The VirtNet offers total mind and body immersion, and it's addictive. Thanks to technology, anyone with enough money can experience fantasy worlds, risk their life without the chance of death, or just hang around with Virt-friends. And the more hacking skills you have, the more fun. Why bother following the rules when most of them are dumb, anyway?

The Maze Runner + Ready Player One + TRON
Revisado: 10-15-13
What would have made The Eye of Minds better?
Something, anything unique. So much repetition of ideas that have been done better. Even Dashner's own Maze Runner ideas were repeated at points here and with worse results. It was exciting and intense, a Dashner staple, but not interesting.
What was most disappointing about James Dashner’s story?
Lack of unique world-building and character development.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Horrible at voicing female characters. Most characters were lifeless. Just felt very boring.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The action and intensity in the pacing keeps you going even when you aren't that interested in the story.
