Historia
Ponyboy can count on his brothers. And on his friends. But not on much else besides trouble with the Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids whose idea of a good time is beating up "greasers" like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect, until the night someone takes things too far.

Familiar Cast of Characters
Revisado: 08-18-19
I live in Tulsa. The house used as the set for The Outsiders movie was just opened as a small museum. I took that prompt to finally get around to listening to the book. I wish I had not waited so long.
I did the math, and Ponyboy and I would be the same age. The descriptions of the times and the characters were spot on with my experience, as I too grew up in Oklahoma. I was neither a greaser nor a socs, just a nerd trying to stay out of harm's way.
I especially enjoyed the slang and expressions that sounded like what I used to hear from my own family and friends.
Although it was a heavy and welcome dose of nostalgia, the story itself had me hooked. It was one of those books where I often kept listening in the car even after arriving at my destination. Well done.

Historia
In this revised and updated edition of the original, groundbreaking book Overcoming Perfectionism: The Key to a Balanced Recovery, Smith describes the key differences between overt and covert perfectionism; the role early attachment, temperament, sibling relationships, and life circumstances play in developing this pattern; and how to shift toward a center of balance for a more fulfilling life.

Returned it

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Narration was like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. The first part of the book seemed to lack focus, even tangential. Admittedly I did not get very far, so maybe things got better later.

The year is 2026. China has taken over as the world's largest economy, while the United States, mired in an oil shortage, struggles to adjust to its diminished role. Then, a surprise attack throws the US into a chaos unseen since Pearl Harbor. As the enemy takes control, the survival of the nation will depend upon the most unlikely forces: the Navy's antiquated Ghost Fleet and a cadre of homegrown terrorists.

Still enjoyed it, but...
Revisado: 10-16-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The narrative needed to flow better; I thought it was choppy. There were some extraneous tidbits thrown in that were irrelevant.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ghost Fleet?
When 2 of the main protagonists chose to sacrifice themselves for the sake of using the "secret weapon" and saving others.
Which character – as performed by Rich Orlow – was your favorite?
Mike Simmons
Did Ghost Fleet inspire you to do anything?
No
Any additional comments?
As others have mentioned, the book was longer than it needed to be, and included a large cast of characters that were not essential to the story line. Some characters were introduced and it was surprising to me that they only appeared once.

Habitual Overkill
Revisado: 03-03-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People with too much time on their hands.
Has The Power of Habit turned you off from other books in this genre?
No.
What does Mike Chamberlain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Nothing noteworthy.
Any additional comments?
I don't stop reading/listening to books before finishing very often. The repetition and superfluous detail of some of the stories got to me, and I moved on to other fare.
