Historia
This riveting narrative explores the lives of six remarkable female pharaohs, from Hatshepsut to Cleopatra - women who ruled with real power - and shines a piercing light on our own perceptions of women in power today. Female rulers are a rare phenomenon - but thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, women reigned supreme. But throughout human history, women in positions of power were more often used as political pawns in a male-dominated society. What was so special about ancient Egypt that provided women this kind of access to the highest political office?

Feels like false advertising.
Revisado: 09-11-21
The title is very deceptive you think that you're getting into a history book but you're getting into a lot of what-ifs and maybes. There's obviously a very strong political view in mind not that there's anything wrong with that. I digress that's not why a lot of people are reading the book for. People are reading the book because they wanted to see a light shed on woman rulers in Egypt not Hillary Clinton. She's not an Egyptian political ruler I don't see her relevance in this book. Also it states more facts about Hillary Clinton than it does about the actual Egyptian rulers. Any historical aspects are assumptions, assumption makes an a$$ of all of us.

Wonderful story, absolutely horrible reading. Wheaton's reading is flat soda. To get through this it's gonna take a looong long time..

Underwhelming
Revisado: 06-05-21
Performed beautifully. Story itself is all over the place, very choppy, and abit hard to follow. I was looking for an easy listen, maybe I'll come back to it in a different state of mind.

Not meant to be a audio book.

Overall I think it's a good book, the problem lies with the fact there is no accompanying PDF. There is references to Images and figures throughout the book, without them you lose alot of information.

Historia
Fascinated by our pervasive terror of dead bodies, mortician Caitlin Doughty set out to discover how other cultures care for their dead. In rural Indonesia, she observes a man clean and dress his grandfather's mummified body. Grandpa's mummy has lived in the family home for two years, where the family has maintained a warm and respectful relationship. She meets Bolivian natitas (cigarette-smoking, wish-granting human skulls) and introduces us to a Japanese kotsuage.

I've been a fan of the good death for many years the insights of the grim side of detachment that occurs in America is very real.

This is a practical, relatable, and humorous guide to surviving the difficult, awkward, and rewarding job of being a breastfeeding, working mother. Drawing on the war stories, hacks, and humor of working moms and on her own stories from her demanding job and travel in developing countries, she gives women moral support for dealing with the stress and guilt that come with juggling working and breastfeeding. As she tells the listener in her witty, inspiring manifesto, "Your worth as a mother is not measured in ounces."

Milk it for all it's worth!
Revisado: 05-11-21
Very insightful, covers alot of the topics discrepancies that you see in a lot of information about breastfeeding. I feel like this book gives a realistic expectation that allows you to be human. Along with the sad reality of breastfeeding/pumping in the work place. These babies are the future, we as their parents should be able to raise them without the question of which path is right!
