First of all, the story, in all its humor and depth, grows with each installment. This was an absolute blast to listen to. I honestly caught myself doing the “just one more chapter” while entirely neglecting things I had to do throughout the day. It’s THAT good. Ryan H. Reid is so natural in his delivery as narrator, it’s as if this actually happened to him and he’s just recounting the story in vivid detail. And his VOICES - so distinct and perfectly executed. Dorrie showed even more of her range in this book as well. But Jeff Hays, of course, is at peak performance as Chester. I found myself laughing out loud many times throughout.

Surprisingly Heartfelt and Delightfully Funny

I knew some of the author’s work, so I was excited to give this one a try. The concept at first gave me a mix of wary and intrigued feelings. But MAN did it deliver! I’m SO glad I gave it a try. Jeff Hays as the voice in the main character’s head is, of course, hilarious and spot on. The main narrator, Ryan H. Reid, gives a performance unlike I’ve heard from him before. He gives the MC such a relatable voice, which has to be hard as the kid is 14 and going through all the changes that life serves up (pun intended) during that time. The combo of the writing with Ryan’s narration even made me tear up at parts. Wonderful all around. Looking forward to the next one!

The writing on Book 2 has improved from the first. I really enjoyed Book 1 but this has gone to new heights. The adventures are bigger and better and the flow of the story, hasn’t let me put it down. The Soundbooth team KILLS it. Of course, Jeff Hays is amazing as the Mimic and Dorrie is as delightful as always, but im really excited to see what more projects Ryan H. Reid does. He was outstanding.

Such compelling acting!!

I was excited by the concept within the synopsis and figured if Soundbooth Theater was producing the audio, it had to good. For the most part, I really enjoyed the story; I do however, agree with some of the pacing issues mentioned by other reviewers. But I will say, with the amazing narration and voice acting, I was happy with my listen from start to finish. This new narrator, Ryan H. Reid, is gonna be huge. Hope he keeps working more with Jeff Hays. I just purchased a couple more titles Ryan’s narrated, after hearing this one.

First off, there’s a back and forth on the narration. I truly loved it. The guy was especially fantastic. But I agree with a lot of the comments on the book dragging a bit and it’s ending was quite deflated. But I really like this author. Check out more of her stuff.

I couldn’t stop listening; the story was so compelling. The action scenes are so well described and the journey of the protagonist…what an arc! All the characters are so unique and well developed. AND the NARRATOR!! Ryan H. Reid’s voices are INSANE. I got lost in the story because his acting and distinct character voices are so good. Chris A. Jackson is a wonderful storyteller and I cannot WAIT for the next in the series to get on Audible. SERIOUSLY! You don’t want to miss this one.
