Even though I did figure it out before the end it was very well plotted out. Narrators are very good and the story never lost its fast pace. Almost didn’t listen to it because of some negative reviews. Glad I didn’t let them stop me.

Tirade from a Trump hater

I got through an hour and that was enough. There’s plenty of blame for what did and didn’t happen during Covid and MANY bad actors. It’s not possible for me to listen to Trump derangement syndrome for hours and hours. This could have been a good book, but the author’s hate was so pervasive there was no way I could continue.
I’m writing this, so I lived through Covid and obviously you did, too. Most of us lost loved ones and it’s been very difficult to reconcile those losses.
If you hate Trump, this book is for you. If you just want facts without vitriol, like I wanted, you may want to pass on this one.

Very shallow storylines

I have listened to almost all of this series. I have listened to over 1,000 books from Audible, so I have a lot of experience listening to audio books. This series has been getting less interesting over time. I decided to give this one a chance since it had been a while. I was out of credits so I actually bought it. Big mistake. No returns on purchases. The plots were so simplified, especially the cybercrime plot, that it was childish. It’s time to hang up writing more books for this series in my opinion. The reputation of the writers is a big question in my mind. I know I will never be tempted again. I so wish I had used my better judgment when deciding to buy this.

Slow going

The premise of the story was good but it drug in many places. I had a hard time staying engaged. The narrator was slow speaking and didn’t differentiate between characters as well as he should have. I had a hard time finishing which is unusual if I am listening to a really good story. When I finally finished I had a sense of relief that it was finally over. Again, good story line, but not developed in a crisp, clean, easy to listen to manner.

Not as good as the hype

Jane character is great. Overall a good listen but with a poor ending. It’s one of those “to be continued”endings which I don’t like when I am not expecting one.

Just Okay

Not Child’s best in my opinion. I have read most of this author’s books and always loved them. This one is my least favorite. But….that doesn’t mean it won’t be great for someone else. Thoughts on the merits of a book are so subjective. Brick was great as usual.

I thought the story was mediocre, can’t believe this is so highly rated. I have listened to or read 85% of Patterson’s books. The narration was not good which made the story even harder to like.
