Historia
Scottish comedian Fern Brady was told she couldn't be autistic because she'd had loads of boyfriends and is good at eye contact. In this frank and surreal memoir, she delivers a sharp and often hilarious portrait of neurodivergence and living unmasked.

More rewarding than funny
Revisado: 07-24-23
More funny than you’d think at first. At times I questioned what I’d got myself into. I personally connected with many of her frustrations with society. Her perspective is unique. I learned a lot and laughed a little.

The ending comes quick
Revisado: 05-09-23
If the author’s note at the end didn’t last so long, I’d have guessed that the ending must come soon. As it was, the ending surprised me and the author’s note did not disappoint. The whole work was a masterpiece. I’m amazed my mind could do the acrobatics I’ve now survived. I’m warmed up I suppose for the feats of the rest of this series! [cracks knuckles]

Historia
Here are the thrills, grandeur, and unabashed fun of the Greek myths, stylishly retold by Stephen Fry. The legendary writer, actor, and comedian breathes life into ancient tales, from Pandora's box to Prometheus's fire, and transforms the adventures of Zeus and the Olympians into emotionally resonant and deeply funny stories, without losing any of their original wonder. Learned notes from the author offer rich cultural context. This volume is a doorway into a captivating world.

Well done Mr Fry
Revisado: 01-10-23
Can’t recommend this experience strongly enough! This story is matched to its medium as a nightingale to her song; as Steven Fry to his golden larynx. I give this audio book a full set of constellations out of five.

Kamishibai newb’s pronunciation guide
Revisado: 09-02-22
Classic story spoken in perfect English. and with high quality background music in one version. The disappointment comes with spending a whole credit for 11 minutes of audio. The same amount I spent on the Martian? The same amount I spent on Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows!?
Cute story, spoken clearly and I have to swallow the cost because I need to present Momotaro, The Peach Boy as a kamishibai story at the upcoming Matsuri. I’m bad at speaking Japanese so I have to listen to the Japanese names on repeat so I don’t make a fool of myself on stage. I’m scarred from a particular performance of the bamboo princess. Apparently I wasn’t saying her name right and a particularly indignant audience member had the gaul to call me out on it and tried to correct me right then and there. I’ve gone through all the various courses of action that could be taken and the correct one is to just study my butt off. Learn the tough words forwards and backwards so I can go into the performance with extraordinary confidence. I’ll not be heckled by a hag this time. This matsuri will be different.
One listen to the sample and you’ll understand. This reading off this story is spoken with pitch perfect dictation and if you fancy yourself a kamishibai man, this is an invaluable resource.

When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves... Fun details the movie left out
Revisado: 05-01-22
I mean obviously this gets said often about books and movies but having listened to the book second, I’ve got a whole new outlook on the cast of characters with these subtle changes being added to their already rich backgrounds. It’s reading was expertly performed and this book’s content will surely withstand the test of time.

You won’t like the songs in the beginning...
Revisado: 10-03-20
...but by the end you’ll love them. When you’ve finally acclimated to the variation of voices between the many characters, not only in timbre but in their lyrics, by the end of this book, you’ll feel that Rob Inglis had somehow inherited the soul of Tolkien and imbued a microphone with this master of writing’s inner voice as he wrote it. Mesmerizing!

Historia
Rarely does a work of history contain startling implications for the present, but in The People, No, Thomas Frank pulls off that explosive effect by showing us that everything we think we know about populism is wrong. Today "populism" is seen as a frightening thing, a term pundits use to describe the racist philosophy of Donald Trump and European extremists. But this is a mistake. The real story of populism is an account of enlightenment and liberation; it is the story of American democracy itself, of its ever-widening promise of a decent life for all.

An important message
Revisado: 09-08-20
I would recommend this book to anyone trying to understand why, someone on the other side of the isle would do the things they do. Both sides have been stolen from the people and steered to do anything but the bidding of the people, the yous and the mes. Oh to have a sensible debate about the direction we should take the country; a discussion of philosophy without back handed strategy. This is the American Dream. To rule ourselves by letting each member have an equal voice. Thomas Frank does a good job putting color to the history of how we got here. Dense. Listen in small chunks.

Historia
In this lecture, Thomas Frank distills the central argument from his New York Times best seller, What's the Matter With Kansas?, which unravels the great political mystery of our day: why do so many Americans vote against their economic and social interests? In this special recorded lecture, Thomas Frank answers the riddle by examining his home state, Kansas, a place once famous for its radicalism.

After nearly a decade of brutal warfare, three mighty factions - the enigmatic Protoss, the savage Zerg, and the Terrans, humanity's descendants in the sector - have entered a cease-fire, but the peace is tenuous at best. When the sudden restoration of an incinerated planet is brought to light, tensions erupt. Neutrality swings back to hostility, and old enemies are accused of developing biological weapons to reignite the bitter conflict.

I’m pretty sure you are the type of person who wants to listen to any media that can leverage the hours of character development, lore, artwork and social hierarchy you’ve experienced over the years because you played the campaign of Starcraft, then Broodwar, then Starcraft 2. Why else would you search audible for Starcraft? Yain’t here looken to buy a camper...
And oh man you came to the right place my nerd brethren! We know all about how the story has “evolved” up through LoV. This story seems to build on all of that. That’s why you will enjoy herring
