Historia
The campaign of destruction that Axel Soledad and Dallas Cates wreaked on Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett left both men in tatters, especially Nate, who lost almost everything. Wondering if the civilized life left him vulnerable to attack, Nate dropped off the grid with his falcons in tow to prepare for vengeance. When Joe gets a call from the governor asking for help finding his son-in-law, who has gone missing in the Sierra Madre mountain range, he enlists the help of a local, a rookie game warden named Susan Kany.

Historia
FBI special agent Mercy Kilpatrick has been waiting her whole life for disaster to strike. A prepper since childhood, Mercy grew up living off the land — and off the grid — in rural Eagle’s Nest, Oregon. Until a shocking tragedy tore her family apart and forced her to leave home. Now a predator known as the cave man is targeting the survivalists in her hometown, murdering them in their homes, stealing huge numbers of weapons, and creating federal suspicion of a possible domestic terrorism event.

Good.narrator
Revisado: 05-27-23
I kept listening because I cared about the main character, Mercy, but loved the narrator. the author gives a fairly realistic insight into the 'prepper' community. It appears to be very like a cult. So Mercy's excommunication and no contact with her family is believable in that context. What wasn't believable was the police and FBI procedures. I highly doubt the FBI was so naive as to not know Mercy's full background. anyone with a security clearance knows how it works. it really is the narrator that wins the prize here. she was excellent and without her I probably wouldn't have finished the book.

Adequate
Revisado: 05-18-23
The plot twist was pretty good. It was the characteristics of the individual characters that got tedious. These characters were so alike it became difficult to tell them apart. And the police team was pretty unrealistic. "we are all here for each other" , may sound nice but is probably not realistic outside of fiction. I wondered -was this a police force or a self-help support group?? Aside from the feel good fuzzy feeling parts this was OK. A little weak in true police procedure though.

Historia
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Historia
“The Heron” is the nickname a big-city accountant has attached to himself in his new home near San Diego, where he’s using the alias to avoid a hit man who may be after him. It seems a former client believes that The Heron has skipped town with several million dollars not his own. Don Winslow’s ensuing, entertaining yarn is by turns twisty, dark, and comical as we observe the delicate dance between the pursuer and the pursued.

Historia
They live in the shadows, Jack and Jill, feuding twins who can never stop running. From earliest memory, they've been taught to hide, to hunt, to survive. Their prowess is outdone only by Clare, who has always been mentor first and mother second. She trained them in the art of espionage and sharpened their minds with nerve-racking psychological games. As they grew older, they came to question her. But when Clare's safe house explodes and she goes missing, they're forced to believe the unthinkable: Their mother's paranoid delusions have been real all along.

Not as good as the Informationist series
Revisado: 08-08-22
The Story gets bogged down in too many lies, plots, and counter plots. The John character was likeable, but the sister is awful. I got tired of her angst against her brother. Will she stab him? Or shoot him? Humm. Oh yeah, she's the unloved child so we have to overlook her bad behavior. And Clare? She isn't going to win mother of the year. It would have been nice to see a few more scenes of some family affection to balance all the ugly drama.

It was ok
Revisado: 08-04-22
The storyline was oK but the writing , description sequences mostly, were at times jarring, irritating, and did not add value to the story. Most of the time the reader thinks the protagonist committed the murder...she definitely has a mental illness, thus it's believable she would kill someone. The reason the author gives for the mental illness is not believable. There was a lot of time spent describing life with the kid s. Maybe the author should focus on
Young mom type books instead of psychological thriller s

A most necessary tale-A must read
Revisado: 02-11-22
These types of stories about the depravity of WWIi need to be told. we must never forget. Young people today need to hear accounts like Pino's. what strikes me most is the ultimate triumph of courage and faith people like Pino's uncle, Pino and his family showed. their struggle was met with such courage even with the staggering losses they suffered. This is a brilliant story and one that should be required reading for High School students
