What would have made The Divorce Papers better?
This is simply a series of letters written between attorneys and clients. Having worked in a law office, it is simply nothing more than going through a thick file with boring correspondence. Ho Hum.

Would you consider the audio edition of I've Got Your Number to be better than the print version?
Some authors and books are best heard. It makes the joy unfold in a totally different way than reading the print version. I have all of Ms. Kinsella's books safely (I hope) stored on my iPod.
Any additional comments?
Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite feel-good chick lit authors. Ms Kinsella, through her characters and story line, never fail to make me laugh. The story line, using a stolen engagement ring, cell phone, and using texting as a key means of communication, was charming. Poppy is a flawed, but kind heroine finding her way in the world and learning to stand up for herself. I could certainly relate to Poppy. One of the things that made me smile at the end is the realization that there could certainly be future novels featuring Poppy and her endearing antics. Thanks, Ms. Kinsella, for a wonderful day of listening. I think I'll listen to it again. Soon.

Until the day she gets an urgent call from her mother, reporting that: One, the Symphony Association Debutante Ball, which Carlisle's family has sponsored for years, is about to be called off; Two, her mother's divorce has the whole town talking; And three, the family's good name is at stake and Carlisle is the only one who can fix it all.

This is a fun book! Yes, it is predictable. Yes, it made me laugh. Yes, I loved it! The narrator did a great job with the 'Texas Deb' heroine.

Depressing
Revisado: 09-24-05
Ms. Schwarz told the story from the viewpoint of several characters at different times during their lives. She jumped around too quickly from character-to-character. I found it difficult to concentrate and follow. The story itself was fairly ordinary and predictable. However, I think her portrayal of farm life, a farm community and morals during and after WWI are fairly accurate. Ms. Schwarz makes a couple of points in her book: 'you are only as sick as the secrets you keep' and 'oh what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to conceive'. She made the points early in the book and just kept grinding it into the reader/listener. Ms. Brown's narration was extremely irritating. I listened to the entire book and find this is not a book worth re-visiting.

Historia
Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She's made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she's mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they've hired a lawyer - and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can't sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open.

Undomestic Goddess Is A Hoot
Revisado: 09-06-05
This book is a hoot! The plot is far-fetched, and yet I can see so much of myself in Samantha Sweeting. Sophie Kinsella came into my life when I truly needed to laugh. Once again, she has perfectly met my need. I highly recommend any of Kinsella's books for those of you needing a break from the serious, real world.

Revisado: 11-19-04
Absolutely loved this book. The characters were colorful and wonderful. Women of all ages will appreciate the deep friendships and their circle of love and support. It was a treat to hear the author 'read' her book to us. My only criticism is I would have preferred an unabridged version. I look forward to a sequel from this talented writer.

A Good Listen
Revisado: 03-22-04
I debated if I wantd to listen to Grisham's latest. Frankly, his recent works have fallent short of his storytelling abilities. However, 'The Last Juror' is a pleasant surprise, reminescent of Grisham's earlier works. His description of the townspeople and their customs is very enjoyable. It will not take you long to think of the characters in your own story, regardless your place of abode. I particularly enjoyed the main character's growth into the person needed by the town. It was heartwarming and hopeful. There is a black hole in the middle. In addition, some characters did not develop and suddenly disappeared. However, take the time to 'see' this book through. You won't be disappointed. It's a great listen!

Big BAD Wolf
Revisado: 11-26-03
This is an absolutely wonderful book. I could stop listening. The use of two narrators added an enjoyable dimension. The plot is full of twists and turns and twisted characters. After barely being able to live through The Jester, it is nice to come back to the familiar Alex Cross. This is one book you will not want to miss.

There is nothing charming about this tale. The plot was simple, at best. I found it extremely violent and crude for no purpose. James Patterson is a wonderful author. It is commendable that Mr. Patterson wishes to try something new. However, he seems to have taken a wrong turn with this book.
