Historia
The body was left in a dumpster like so much trash, the victim a woman of no fixed address, known for offering paper flowers in return for spare change - and for keeping the cops informed of any infractions she witnessed on the street. But the notebook where she scribbled her intel on litterers and other such offenders is nowhere to be found. Then Eve is summoned away to a nearby building site to view more remains - in this case decades old, adorned with gold jewelry and fine clothing - unearthed by recent construction work.

Not her usual…
Revisado: 09-09-21
Not sure what happened with this book as it lacks the energy, character relationships and suspense as her previous stories in the series. The first 5 chapters were painfully slow and I lost interest so often I had to rewind the audio to try to listen to what I missed. I love Susan Erickson’s narrations, but she must have also been bored as her performance is not the superior quality as other books. I’ve enjoyed the various voices she’s given to the characters, but here, there was little distinction between them and sometimes I had a hard time determining who was “speaking”. I was not convinced that Susan was the narrator until I looked at the credits to confirm. Hope the next book has the energetic, fun story and the familiar narration as I’ve enjoyed in the past books.

Historia
There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”. When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

The narrator ruined it
Revisado: 03-15-21
I had to return the Audi book because the narrator sounded terrible! I am generally very “chill” with narrators. However, this guy was so bad that I returned it and bought the book instead.

Historia
When the daughter of the US Ambassador to Argentina is kidnapped in broad daylight on Christmas Eve, the FBI sends one of its best negotiators to investigate. Supervisory Special Agent Max Hawthorne arrives at an embassy thrown into chaos as US and local law enforcement hustle to track the young woman. Is this a simple kidnap for ransom, or part of a political agenda? Could it be something more sinister?

I have been so excited for another book in her Crossfire series. This book was worth the wait. The story follows Max. I enjoy how characters from previous books take the lead in future stories. The story is fast paced and kept my interest.

No... can’t handle it
Revisado: 04-15-19
The story is probably a great one and I hear this is necessary to read before listening to Hiding, but the narrator is so bad I returned it before I got through chapter 2. This is the first time I’ve returned a book because of the narrator. I’ve heard some not great readers and still made it through to the end, but this is an all new level of bad. Hope book 2 in the series catches me up on what I’m missing by returning this first book.

If only ER doc Sarah Sullivan could get the ornery cowboy she's loved since she was a girl to cooperate, she could move on with her life, and maybe even think about starting a family. But he's pulling away, and she doesn't know why. What she does know is that she can't imagine life without him.

Left wanting more
Revisado: 04-14-19
Well written short novel (novella) that focuses on 2 likable characters from book 1 of the series. It was good, but I wanted more. The first 2 books in the series had so much suspense, action and romance that cannot be included in a novella. There’s just not enough time to include a full story line. This was good and I recommend to read as a conclusion to a series. However, I do wish The author put more time into writing a full novel and developing another amazing novel to end the series.

Love the full romance series, just not this book
Revisado: 02-26-19
I’m a fan of this series and I’m listening to the series in the recommended order. This story is well written, as they all have been. My problem with the narrator. The voices, accents and dramatizations are so bad that it’s distracted me from the actual story. I have 3:19 minutes left of the book and I’m struggling to get to the end. I don’t want to miss a story in the series so I’ll suffer through but hope the next story has a better narrator.
