Historia
On bookshelves around the world, surrounded by ordinary books bound in paper and leather, rest other volumes of a distinctly strange and grisly sort: those bound in human skin. Would you know one if you held it in your hand? In Dark Archives, Megan Rosenbloom seeks out the historic and scientific truths behind anthropodermic bibliopegy - the practice of binding books in this most intimate covering.

Wonderfully researched and read perfectly
Revisado: 02-24-23
I know I would’ve loved the extensive research on a very sensitive topic but the book was enhanced by the reading as the author dealt with people from different countries and cultures, both living and dead.

Historia
The 25 years between the onset of the French Revolution in 1789 and the Bourbon Restoration after Napoleon in 1814 is an astonishing period in world history. This era shook the foundations of the old world and marked a permanent shift for politics, religion, and society - not just for France, but for all of Europe. An account of the events alone reads like something out of a thrilling novel.

Loved it!
Revisado: 03-26-15
The professor was through in her research, detail and delivery. I could truly tell the professor enjoyed and appreciated the topic of each lecture and I felt like I was in the classroom with a beloved mentor again. I've learned a great deal about not only the French Revolution and Napoleon Bonaparte but also how individuals and cultures made these events come to pass.
