The first few stories are good, then it nose dives, worst of all is they many aren't Xmas stories, some publisher has lumped a few mediocre stories together called it Christmas Stories & then waits to rip you off with a Christmas book cover. Not worth it.

What’s the author wants you to believe is they moved hundreds of millions of dollars and they only handed out a few watches and small gifts. They want you to believe that at no time was there huge amounts of cash being passed around.
If you understand how the Chinese business system works, this is ridiculous. The author has completely minimised how illegal their actions were. The whole book is sanitised and is quite simply dull.

MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS BOOK

It clearly says it is based ona a true story, is BASED on actual events, and I am sure it is but the ghost writing is awful as reads like a fantasy sometimes, it is all so overblown. An example, one guy has to pay for a taxi to get them out of a dangerous area he has no money, so he reaches in his mouth & he pulls out a gold filling from his tooth, with his fingers!!! . B_S he did, if that is not enough he does it another two times, It is these fantasy senecios that left me wondering how much has this story been doctored.

The author could be described as a veteran in every sense of the word, even though he was only age 21 when the war ended. Armin Scheiderbauer served as an infantry officer with the 252nd Infantry Division, German army, and saw four years of bitter combat on the Eastern Front, being wounded six times. This is an outstanding personal memoir, written with great thoughtfulness and honesty.

STOP BLAMING THE FEDS - TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

This guy accepts NO RESPONSIBILITY, an I mean none. It is all "the Feds" fault. FFS, people spent thousands of hours begging to come out, begging to let the children out, but he has an excuse for everything. It is sickening how biased and one sided this is. When listening to this blinkered view just remember this guy allowed small children to be sexual abused by his leader, fro FFS one of his wifes was eleven years old... the one point he skips over quick as he goes on to explain how it was all the Feds fault.
Alos, anoter huge irritant is the author saying it was not a cult. Ok why is the leader banned all from having sex apart from him, he was also allowed to have sex not only with their wives but als the children, one of his wifes was 11 for crying out loud. He kept them awake with sermons that coudl go on for 12 hours. They had a pile of illegal weapon's... and so it goes on. So stop saying it was all legit & gentle. It was not

Sometimes you do everything right, but it just isn't your day. A part fails and your helicopter comes apart in flight, or, another aircraft runs into you and the pieces of both fall to the ground below, or the enemy gunner pulls the trigger at just the right moment and his rounds find your aircraft in exactly the right spot to take it out of the sky. Whichever way it happens, it wasn't your day.
