it's amazing to think how Anthony Horowitz can come up with so many different stories and make all of them exciting! believable and moving. you really have to admire his genius. unfortunately in my country the first three books are not available in this series, but I will listen to all of them anyway. I will track them down. Don't miss this listen! it's absolutely wonderful.

Extraordinary power of suspense

This book is truly extraordinary. with its brilliant! inventiveness and the quality of the writing, It Rivals other wonderful books by the same author, namely the house of silk. As a capstone to The gatekeepers series, it could not be More satisfying. Not a dull moment. The author knows full well when to stop a line of narrative and switch to the next in order to keep his audience breathless with curiosity and wonderment.

The narrator himself is out of this world. His voice matches all of the characters by turns. His affection and enthusiasm for this book come through at every moment. It is also nice that we have the same narrator over the entire series. I have to add that I have been listening to these books at 1.15 velocity instead of the default speed. This little trick makes the book even more exciting.

FANTASTIC IN EVERY RESPECT

this is by far the best history lecture I have ever heard or read. I am a retired professor not of history but of European literature and I will admit freely and enthusiastically that if I had listened to these 12 lectures as a recent PhD, I would have been a much more effective and fascinating lecturer myself.
the history of Lincoln's life is relatively well known and some think that there wouldn't much that's new here. However that would be a terribly wrong assumption. Even the retelling of well-known incidents and details are superbly delivered as well as surrounded with the most thoughtful and most alluring commentary. This is a true gem and to boot it is entirely free for audible subscribers.

una lettura sublime anzi mitica. una voce così sentita così calda tranquilla e penetrante. questo narratore è un tesoro. il romanzo stesso è buono senz'altro ma non è all'altezza della lettura propria. comunque ci si diverte e non voglio togliere la voglia di ascoltarlo perché in ogni caso vale la pena.

supremely boring presentation with slow narration. thank God for the ability to adjust the speed on audible. lingers on useless details and does not really explain why Wallenstein should stand out in the panopticon of historical characters. too bad because the subject itself is interesting.

wonderful in all respects

an extraordinary book of uncommon depth lightened with constant smiles and mild irony. probably the best novel ever written in the English language. the narration of Maureen O'Brien it's truly remarkable her liquid voice fitting its tone to every character and circumstance will satisfy the most exacting listener.

Roman d'une rare humanité et d'une complexité à la fois passionnante et déconcertante. La narration est tout simplement sublime. Une voix de velours jeune sensible qui vous chuchote presque à l'oreille tout en empruntant des timbres très varies et et chaque fois pleinement crédibles selon les personnages. Une bravoure à tous les égards et à mettre entre toutes les mains !
