Awful. Outdated. Misogynistic.

This book sounds like it was written by a 14 yr old in the 50s. There is literally no helpful advice.

Historia
The outcast youth Ishmael, succumbing to wanderlust during a dreary New England autumn, signs up for passage aboard a whaling ship. The Pequod sails under the command of the one-legged Captain Ahab, who has set himself on a monomaniacal quest to capture the cunning white whale that robbed him of his leg: Moby-Dick. Capturing life on the sea with robust realism, Melville details the adventures of the colorful crew aboard the ship as Ahab pursues his crusade of revenge, heedless of all cost.

My Favorite Way to Enjoy My Favorite Book
Revisado: 07-08-22
Moby Dick has always been my favorite book, but it can be time consuming to read. Reading the book is best done in chunks. I like to revisit it every few years and this recording makes it easy and enjoyable to get through the entire book in a matter of days. A joy to listen to.

Historia
A deeply influential novel from one of America's greatest authors, White-Jacket presents a view of life aboard a 19th-century navy ship that is equal parts humorous and sobering. Published a year before his masterpiece Moby-Dick, White-Jacket is based on Herman Melville's own experiences aboard the USS United States from 1843 to 1844.

Worst Narrator

The story probably has a niche audience, but if you enjoyed RH Dana's "Two Years Before the Mast" you will like "White Jacket". The narrator is difficult to listen to and can't pronounce "indefatigable" (hint - it shouldn't sound like a slur in the middle). I love the book. I wish there were a competent narration.
