Historia
Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

it was ok..
Revisado: 10-30-23
I saw people raving about this ok Tiktok so I downloaded it. I think the male narrator was why I just couldn't connect with the story but it may have also been the story itself. Hard to know for sure. I was rather disappointed that I didn't absolutely love this one the way others do.

not great but not awful either
Revisado: 02-28-19
I think the book was pretty good and I would read it again. I love Joe Arden's narration but Lidia is lacking. I have struggled through the last book and this one but not sure I can listen to another book by her. She rushes Bell's part and I feel like she either has a lisp or saliva situation going on and it is very distracting.

personally, I liked the story but the female narrator ruined part of it for me. she is supposed to be Australian but it sounds like peppa pigs british mother instead of a young Australian girl. it was hard for me to stop getting annoyed with her voice. I should have read this book instead of listening to it.

good story
Revisado: 05-11-17
I have listened to all of the earlier books and have loved them all. the narrators always bring the books to life. Unfortunately, this books has new narrators. The male does well and I wish he had been the only one doing this book. The female narrator was awful. I had such a hard time finishing this book because she completely ruined it with her character voices.
With that said, the story was good and I wish I had just read it instead of wasting a credit.

Story was good but the narration was atrocious!!!
Revisado: 03-04-16
I would have enjoyed it more had I read the book myself instead of listening to it. I may actually do that so I am not so focused on the narrators performances. There was a huge disconnect with the narrators. Antony Ferguson isn't great for female characters. He couldn't convey the emotion or personality of the female lead.
Jillian Macie is HORRIBLE with accents and should stick to narrating books with only American characters. The lead male character is Scottish, but Jillian Macie couldn't manage to use the same accent throughout the book. She made him sound like a mut from all over the world. I heard so many accents from his character that I spent more time trying to figure out where it sounded like it was from than what he was saying. The issues the narrators had really took away from the story itself and I wish I hadn't bought the audible version of this book.

did i listen to the same book everyone else did?
Revisado: 11-03-15
What would have made Grim better?
The sound effects were so cheesy!!!!!! Having crickets and birds in the background through 80% of the book is pointless when they are never mentioned in the first place. Honestly, would you expect to hear that background noise when they on the second floor of a castle? No, you expect those noises in the garden. Good lord, the noises were ridiculous. It totally took away from the book. I might have had an easier time listening to it if I wasn't so focused on that nonsense.
What could M.K. Eidem have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I think better writing would have been really helpful. I had a really hard time connecting to this book because it was alot of he said/she said and not enough of descriptions. I like to feel like I am in the moment with the characters and I felt like I was listening to a rough draft of a movie script. I felt like the book had potential but it needed an overhaul because it was just too simple. No one would be that accepting of this happening to them. No one would fall in love with an alien who kidnapped her within an hour. Also, I seriously doubt, considering there are so many language differences throughout the book in how they refer to things, that women from an alien planet and women from earth would so both use the same insults. Am I expected to believe that even if Lisa uses the term "stupid b!tch" that the crazy female alien would know exactly what that means and hurl the insult right back at her? They don't know what a bathroom is but they know what a cleansing room is. Ok, makes sense. But "stupid b!tch" is universal? REALLY?!
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Where do I start? I'm not sure it was the narrator's fault or the fault of whoever was directing them but for Laura Jennings to use the same tone when she is speaking or shouting or anything else, is weird. She uses this nice calm voice to speak her line and then the narrator states that it was shouted. It was very off-putting. The voices Commodore James uses are better and he is better at using the correct tone for the situation and description. Also, a big pet peeve of mine is having one narrator who does the narration and male voices and only having a female come in to speak female lines (or the other way around). It sounds weird and creates a disconnect. It is very hard to listen to. If you have a decent narrator (Commodore James seems to be), then why not let him handle the female voices? I think alot of the issues I had with the narration and why I struggled to listen to the whole thing was because Laura Jennings lines didn't flow well. Again, I don't know if it was her or the director of the book.

3.5 Overall
Revisado: 09-24-15
Would you listen to Beautiful Entourage again? Why?
I may read it again but I won't listen to it again. I had a hard time picturing this good looking man who works as an escort with that voice. It didn't work for me.
Other than that, the book was good. I had to work for it but I could feel their connection and bond. I think the book was well written. I did notice a few inconsistencies in the book but it was overall a good book.
What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed the fact that I could feel the bond between the two of them.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Laura Jennings did a good job as the heroine of this book. I think Michael Ferraiuolo wasn't a good choice for the hero. He needed to sound more masculine and less feminine. He sounded too much like a gay man (not that that is a bad thing) with very feminine pronunciation and soft voice for him to be portraying his character. I do think he would be a good narrator for other books, but just not this one.
