Hundreds of thousands of Americans can trace their ancestry to Danish Mormons, but few know about the social and cultural ramifications of their ancestors’ conversion to Mormonism. The narrator has good tone, cadence, and style. But there are Significant audio recording errors (sound gaps, repeats, overlaps, mistakes, etc.). Moreover, many standard but challenging English words were mispronounced (e.g., sloughed). Finally, many Mormon-esque words were mispronounced (e.g., Nauvoo).
That said, this book does an excellent job of instructing the listener about the cultural context faced by Mormon converts in Denmark at this time. It really helped me understand what my ancestor likely experienced as he converted and emigrated to Utah. It is very detailed and academic, though a bit repetitive.
