Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Stay strong, Britney!
Revisado: 10-25-23
I really hope that once everything is said and done, Britney writes a follow up. I feel like there are a lot of details of her conservatorship that we just don't know yet. She needs a lot of healing and I hope she truly finds peace. She was hurt by mostly everyone who should have had her back. This book made me angrier for her. I'm rooting for you, Britney!

Historia
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 24 others before taking their own lives. For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. How could her child, the promising young man she had loved and raised, be responsible for such horror? And how, as his mother, had she not known something was wrong?

I really enjoyed this book. Sue explained her experiences at that time and present day so well. I hope that if I ever meet her, I can give her a hug.

Historia
Mercy Fontenot was a Zelig who grew up in the San Francisco Haight-Ashbury scene, where she crossed paths with Charles Manson, went to the first Acid Test, and was friends with Jimi Hendrix. She predicted the Altamont disaster when reading the Rolling Stones' tarot cards at a party and left San Francisco for the climes of Los Angeles in 1967 when the Haight "lost its magic". Written just prior to her death in 2020, Permanent Damage shows us the world of the 1960s and 1970s music scene through Mercy's eyes, as well as the fallout of that era.

What a wild ride

I loved this book. Lots of funny stories and heartbreaking ones. I wish I could have met Mercy before she passed on. After reading this, now I have a whole new list of music to research. Thanks, Mercy!
