It starts on a high and dies out towards the end. Characters lacked true connection and the storyline fell flat in areas where it could have been more informative. It drags and drags 😩🙄

I love the novel. My first of the series and of an African American novel. My only cringe is the word *yonnie* but otherwise I really loved the novel.

I hated it. There was no healing process. There was nothing concrete, based on the suffrage that the young lady went through. I would think that there would’ve been a healing process for her and some more detailing, but it lacked so much. It was a mess. Honestly, hated it. I endured it to the end to see if anything would change. However, I was left disappointed.

I’m not a big fan of the story. There were too many acts of SA against the main character. Also, I am very concerned about the fact that there’s a pack of werewolves that has no pack connections. It’s weird I never read a werewolf book or novel, that has the werewolves and they are not mentally connected, Especially with mates. Too, drawn out.

It’s a no for me this romance novel was quite abusive. I did not like the fact that the female lead was so weak, and I did not like the fact that the male lead was so overpowering that and aggressive and abusive in language, and mentally, I don’t consider it a good romance novel for various reasons, and the fact that it took her having to leave for him to acknowledge the love that he had for her it’s just not my cup of tea.

First off, I must say I’m not happy w/ Royce’s character. He is a coward. Macalister might be messed up but he never lied. I admire the main character her intensions are good. She was selfless throughout and I respect that about her. All other characters I found lacking. I felt like the antagonist and the protagonist had more chemistry. Just saying.

I’m didn’t like how Jess’ character was too easily forgiving. Her personality brought down the dynamic of the entire story. So depressing I fell asleep a couple times. Lost interest.

I totally get it now . After completing the novel. Hearing the author’s note I understand. Why this trilogy is how it is. But we honestly didn’t need 3 books to explain why. Had it not been for the horrible ending to the movie which is totally different by the way. I wouldn’t have read the book. In the future, let’s minimize the non- relevant chapters.

This story had so much potential. However, the sex scene wasn’t even present. The back and forth was too much. I loved Hollen character. Josline was annoying and a bore honestly. I understand the point the author was trying to make. But she felt short in a lot of areas. For that reason I would not be continuing the series. I really wanted to love this novel . :(
