Historia
France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever—and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world. But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

Fine writing

It is such a clever exposition of human nature in an unnatural world. Her writing is so vivid.

Patrick O’Brien is among the best of the best
Revisado: 08-19-24
I read the series 10 years ago when I could see. I had to listen to it in order to read it again. The narrator was wonderful – so skilled. I got much more out of it the second time with the help of Patrick Tull.
Patrick O’Brian himself is on a par with Shakespeare—his use of the language and understanding of human nature. He makes history live. I’m so sad to have finished I am going to listen to the whole thing again.
