Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

This felt more like an outline of a story than an actual narrative - I only completed it to see how it was going to end and I’m still a bit vague on that

Historia
We live in a factory-made world: modern life is built on three centuries of advances in factory production, efficiency, and technology. But giant factories have also fueled our fears about the future since their beginnings, when William Blake called them "dark Satanic mills". Many factories that operated over the last two centuries - such as Homestead, River Rouge, and Foxconn - were known for the labor exploitation and class warfare they engendered, not to mention the environmental devastation caused by factory production.

A Behemoth book on modernity
Revisado: 10-11-19
I fell like this book was brought to you by the word "modernity" which was used in every chapter multiple times, enough that it became annoying to hear.
This was a behemoth - I was interested in the impact factories had on people, the communities around them and society - but it didn't really talk much about that or it got lost in the quotes visitors to these factories made. Quotes that the narrator did in various accents - not sure if that was helpful or not.
I did like hearing about the birth of factories in the birth of the soviet union and the massive Fox-Conn factories with 300,000 people - but felt the history could have been presented better.

Fun, still a fun take on "reality"
Revisado: 08-24-19
A fun, interesting and often humous book, sort of about the impact of pop-culture, music, and movies on life (the universe and everything). The audiobook was narrated by the author, who kind of sounded like comic book guy from the Simpsons, which isn't bad, it added extra humor to have Comic Book guy tell you about uncool things. The book also made me feel like a select group of people who didn't listen to music from the decade I was born in, or get taken in by popular TV 2 decades after I was born, even though this was the start of the reality TV craze. I will listen to other books because reality and pop culture march on.

Another great tale about the future of genetics
Revisado: 11-15-18
This is the 2nd book I have read with a genetics theme - for the future - this book having a scary world of big pharmaceutical companies who control the designer drugs and so hackers reverse engineer and reproduce these drugs to give medicine to the common folks - it was also an interesting world of Robots and AI and if an AL can be owned then so can humans

Enjoying the series
Revisado: 08-22-18
This tale is over the top with a relentless drug lord. I can see a drug lord having a large army and a lot of control (since money talks) - it was an interesting change from relentless agencies tracking the grey man

Interesting and insightful
Revisado: 10-07-16
Any additional comments?
I like the idea (I didn't think about from the Host) that archaeology isn't a science - Science has repeatable results, in archaeology, once you dig up something it's done, you can't do it again. Instead archaeology is a process for discovering the past that uses scientific processes to analyze what has been unearthed.
Also it was a 24 lecture course and they didn't get to the Incas until Lecture 17, the first 17 lectures cover the cultures that came before - very impressive

Historia
Crossover is the first novel in a series which follows the adventures of Cassandra Kresnov, an artificial person, or android, created by the League, one side of an interstellar war against the more powerful, conservative Federation. Cassandra is an experimental design - more intelligent, more creative, and far more dangerous than any that have preceded her. But with her intellect come questions, and a moral awakening. She deserts the League and heads incognito into the space of her former enemy, the Federation, in search of a new life.

Interesting tale and vision of the Future
Revisado: 05-12-14
What does Dina Pearlman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Dina Pearlman is awesome as usual , I go looking for stories she narrates
Any additional comments?
I liked the story, the technology, the vision of the future, and the characters (mostly). There was a guy early on who was basically racist (against Artificial life) so much that I got tired and wanted to quit to avoid listening to him. Plus the begetting of chapter 2 was so physically violent against a person, I started to reconsider the book (and this form a person who reads about vampire hunters and zombies) The rest of the story was fine , though interception and the intermixing of politics often slowed the story down to a crawl, disrupting the action. I will give the 2nd book a chance at some point.
