Historia
Fifteen-year-old Will Braddock works as a hunter for his uncle's survey team as the transcontinental railroad extends across Wyoming in 1868. Paddy O'Hannigan is determined to get even with those who caused the death of his father—which means Will, his uncle, and former slave Homer Garcon. And Paddy has other nefarious designs: he intends to blow up presidential candidate Ulysses S. Grant's train on the general's campaign trip into Wyoming.

I loved book two! Can't wait for book three!
Revisado: 08-10-24
This is book two in the author’s series “The Iron Horse Chronicles” and I loved it from beginning to end. It was a wild adventure with non-stop action. I don’t want to give anything away, so no spoilers here, but I was on the edge of my seat many times, wondering how in the world this could possibly work out for Will, and many of the other characters, that found themselves in some unusual heart stopping predicaments. And then we have Paddy O’Hannigan! I keep hoping he can somehow redeem himself, and every time I start to feel sorry for him, he is back up to no good. Robert Murphy creates a world so immersive that you feel as if you are part of the story. I have also learned many historic details I knew nothing about prior to reading this story. The narrator has really mastered the character voices in this book, including different accents, which I really enjoyed. Now the hard part . . . waiting for the next book to come out in Audible.

Love “The Iron Horse Chronicles” trilogy!
Revisado: 04-24-24
I love this trilogy, and I can’t wait for the second book of “The Iron Horse Chronicles” to come out in audible. I have previously read, and enjoyed, all three books in this series; “Eagle Talons,” “Bear Claws,” and “Golden Spike.” The author, Robert Lee Murphy, does a fantastic job of weaving the fictitious character of 15-year-old Will Braddock into actual historical events during the time of the building of the transcontinental railroad. It was so much fun to experience history through Will’s adventures. The historic detail provided by the author really makes it feel like you are back in time. I found the narrator’s voice very easy to listen to, and the cast of supporting characters, both real and fictional, are really brought to life through the writing and the narration. This is a story that will be appreciated by young and old.

Historia
The true story of what took place in Donald Trump’s White House during a disastrous 2020 has never before been told in full. What was really going on around the president, as the government failed to contain the coronavirus and over half a million Americans perished? Who was influencing Trump after he refused to concede an election he had clearly lost and spread lies about election fraud? To answer these questions, Phil Rucker and Carol Leonnig reveal a dysfunctional and bumbling presidency’s inner workings in unprecedented, stunning detail.

From former head of Obamacare Andy Slavitt, Preventable is the definitive inside account of the United States' failed response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Slavitt chronicles what he saw and how much could have been prevented - an unflinching investigation of the cultural, political, and economic drivers that led to unnecessary loss of life.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Good Good Good - and Fist the Bump
Revisado: 06-03-21
This book is awesome, and the narrator did an excellent job. Just as great at The Martian. It was happy, and sad, and funny, and suspenseful. I loved the characters and their relationship with each other was so fun. Andy Weir must do so much research for his books, on topics like science, space, different languages, biology. The story was well put together. I can't wait for the movie. To sum it up, it was Good Good Good. You will understand when you read.

Historia
It's been three long years since Deadbreak. That's what everyone's calling it - the day the dead rose. Every day since then, Jeremiah Reid has had one goal: to make his way back to his daughter. With his four-legged companion, Joe, Jeremiah has to travel a lawless wasteland teeming with zombies, bandits, and worse, like people who put anchovies on pizza (you know who you are). It's a new world out there, and no one is safe. People are weary, cities are in ruin, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu.

Absolutely loved it.
Revisado: 01-17-20
I truly enjoyed this book. I was hesitant to read it because these types of stories don’t usually end well for the dog, and I am an animal lover. The story really pulls you in and has you wondering and guessing what will happen next. I thought each of the characters was unique and interesting. The world the author created came to life on the pages, and I found myself wishing I could explore it myself. There are unexpected twists and turns. I love when I can’t figure out the ending half way through a book. This one did have some sad moments, and tense moments, and happy moments. But nothing disturbing. It has left me wanting to know more about the world the author created, and what has become of the characters after the story was through. I highly recommend it. The author did an excellent job with the narration too.

For Meredith Gale, ending her life seems like her only choice, and that choice is the reason she’s dangling by her fingertips from a bridge high above the freezing water of the San Francisco Bay. But someone or some thing has other plans for Meredith, and as her fingers slip from the cold steel of the bridge, a disembodied voice asks her a simple question: “Candidate 13: Do you wish to be saved?” Realizing her mistake too late, Meredith screams “Yes!” and instantly finds herself transported to a mysterious island, alongside hundreds of other Candidates like her.

Great book!
Revisado: 07-05-19
This book was even better than Cyber Storm. It held my attention from the first chapter. Love the characters and the relationships that were formed. I have always been a fan of survival stories and this was a great one. It had the extra twist of a mystery, who brought the plane down and why. The narration was excellent, with each character having a very distinguished voice.
