Historia
In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children - everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills ("they always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important news"), to the eating habits of four-year-olds ("there is no difference between a four-year-old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floor").

Lots of kids
Revisado: 11-30-23
Pretty funny but not quite like standup. Slower moving and less funny without the laugh track.

Historia
What is the nature of space and time? How do we fit within the universe? How does the universe fit within us? There's no better guide through these mind-expanding questions than acclaimed astrophysicist and best-selling author Neil deGrasse Tyson. But today, few of us have time to contemplate the cosmos. So Tyson brings the universe down to Earth succinctly and clearly, with sparkling wit, in digestible chapters consumable anytime and anywhere in your busy day.

Boring
Revisado: 08-11-23
Although filled with fascinating concepts, it reads as a technical manual that’s just plain boring.

Historia
In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science. After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

The choice is yours, and you'll have to live with the consequences for at least the rest of your life. Will you take the blue pill - skip this audiobook and go on thinking of The Matrix as just a movie? Or will you take the red pill - listen to this book, and find out just how far down the rabbit-hole goes?

Don’t bother
Revisado: 09-12-21
A bunch of boring essays tied together with quotes from the actual movie the matrix. Most of them are boring, overly wordy, and search for analogies and philosophies to try and make the movie relevant in a way that it isn’t. There are a few essays that are good, but the vast majority of it sucks. I found myself playing this audible book in the background when I wasn’t paying attention just so I could feel like I completed the entire thing. In reality, I should’ve just deleted it. It doesn’t do justice to the movie trilogy.

Some good chapters, some boring chapters
Revisado: 02-24-21
Definitely worth listening to specifically for the earlier chapter about technology in the future. That was amazing. Also, the chapter about the meaning of life, definitely worth it. The rest was a little boring.
