its good but not as good as the first. hard to tell where the story is heading and the mc lacks personal progression compared to the first book. really feels like she got nerfed. still enjoyable but hope she goes back to being a more unique outlier in the next book.

it was a good series. found it a bit overly problematic like a bad horror film where everyone trips at the worst possible times and they all die because they over complicate things. found the mc a bit overly naive but he does get better. end of the series was definitely a bit lack luster, if anything it felt like it should have kept going.

way to much from Emily in the beginning. I kept thinking why do I care about this character, what relevance does she have with the main characters? why not just give her a smaller part around the end? is this much of her perspective really necessary? other than this annoyance it was a great book.

I liked this book but not much is accomplished while loads more of issues arrive. there are also quite a few things that are just illogical and don't make sense like the whole swearing thing.
that said the book is engaging and you get to know the main characters a bit better.
Luke daniels is always awesome.

Definitely not his best book

I liked his other books but i kinda hated this book.
The MC's personality is kinda all over the place, one minute he's all defiant, talking about how's the son of a great gladiator then the next he's talking about how he's been raised to be walked on and should accept it. This happens throughout the whole book over and over again.
The story bounces all over the place telling you lots of useless stuff rather than focusing on the main storyline. Everything just goes from bad to worse and the characters are not good enough to do anything useful.
The main idea of the story is interesting and the reason i bought this book, bummer the execution just sucks.
