It was an interesting topic for a book. It was heavy on family and children but still had a thriller plot that kept me listening.

Historia
In his authorial debut Aaron R. Tyler produced this edge of your seat crime thriller that you can't put down. There is a serial killer terrorizing the largely rural twin tiers region of Pennsylvania and upstate New York. He enjoys conversation and torture, and leaves behind a calling card. Each of his victims are marked with the letters CR. He is always one step ahead of the police as he kills those who have names from characters in Stephen King novels. Excellent story
Revisado: 03-16-25
I am surprised this book isnt more well known. It had a great storyline and seems well thought out and written. The AI voice was pretty decent too except for the pause after every “SAIC”. It took me a bit before I realized it meant special agent in charge and then it distracted me less. Overall I really enjoyed it.

Historia
Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

I really enjoyed the subject and spiritual aspects of the story. It focused more on that than gore

Historia
The Girl of Sugar Beach is the most watched documentary in television history - a riveting, true-life mystery that unfolds over 12 weeks and centers on a fascinating question: Did Grace Sebold murder her boyfriend, Julian, while on a Spring Break vacation, or is she a victim of circumstance and poor police work? Grace has spent the last 10 years in a St. Lucian prison, and reaches out to filmmaker Sidney Ryan in a last, desperate attempt to prove her innocence. As Sidney begins researching, she uncovers issues that were all overlooked during the original investigation.

Really enjoyed this
Revisado: 04-15-24
The voice of the narrator was refreshing and female which is a good choice for a female driven plot. I have trouble sometimes when men narrate female characters and make them sound whiny.
I enjoyed the plot as well.

Great but may be better read in print
Revisado: 06-06-23
I really enjoyed the book but it may be a better read than a listen. I hard a hard time following/staying interested during the “online chat” sessions but probably would’ve been fine if reading instead of listening. Otherwise its a great book.

The story line was not obvious and kept me interested. I didn’t like the voice of one of the characters but I think that may have been on purpose. I will look for other books by this author.

Historia
On the first day of her new job, Harris is called to the scene of a brutal murder at the heart of Surrey society. A shocking crime, with a meticulous killer: the victim’s eyes have been removed and the body drained of blood, with no forensic evidence left at the scene. Her boss insists it must be the return of a killer who escaped justice several years ago, leaving a trail of bloody ritualistic killings. Harris isn’t so sure: both sets of victims have had their eyes removed, but other details are significantly different.
