Historia
In a small Alaska town, a boy is found with his throat ripped out and all the blood drained from his body. The inhabitants of Deadhart haven’t seen a killing like this in twenty-five years. I’m not a Vampire fan but I do like CJ Tudor
Revisado: 04-04-25
So I gave this a try. Wow!!! SO GOOD! And Detective Barbara is a new favorite character, I hope there are more in a series.
I liked how “Vampire Rules” and terms weren’t explained, just talked about as if common knowledge. This basically is a great mystery story, that just happens to have Vampires in it. All around great writing, great characters, a decent story/mystery, and a satisfying ending that wrapped up loose ends.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Perfect Disaster story
Revisado: 03-25-25
I wish I hadn’t listened. Overall I thought the story was boring until the last 90 mins or so. Then it was disaster story worthy horror. I love Scott Brick, but the writing made him sound overly dramatic, even for him. The “bad guys” were hate worthy, but the good guys that perished was hard to accept. Guess I’m not a disaster story reader. Learning facts about volcanos was interesting though.

A great ride!!
Revisado: 02-27-25
I’m not a courtroom drama fan, but the courtroom scenes weren’t awful to listen to, and did tie in to the rest of the story. Wow, I got slammed several times by “didn’t see THAT coming!” I’ve already recommended this to two of my friends. I enjoyed this very much!!

Outstanding Information!
Revisado: 02-17-25
This was explained and related in simple English where you don’t have to be a scientist, or even a chef, to understand. Very interesting information, loads of humor, and overall a fun time. Zachary, I think you would find this book useful and certainly interesting! A few things, like labeling information, has changed since 2012, but no matter. You can figure it out. I recommend this book! And Sean Runnette narrates as if he were the writer, and is excellent. Don’t forget to download the PDF recipes!

Historia
Reporter Sam Kean reveals the periodic table as it’s never been seen before. Not only is it one of man's crowning scientific achievements, it's also a treasure trove of stories of passion, adventure, betrayal, and obsession. The infectious tales and astounding details in The Disappearing Spoon follow carbon, neon, silicon, and gold as they play out their parts in human history, finance, mythology, war, the arts, poison, and the lives of the (frequently) mad scientists who discovered them.

Interesting at least
Revisado: 02-10-25
I am not a scientist, physicist, chemist, etc, and this was 100% over my head HAHA. However, I still found it interesting! I did pick up a few things here and there, and maybe something will be recalled in the future in an A-Ha moment. The narrator was EXCELLENT.

Pretty good story
Revisado: 01-22-25
I don’t like fake suspense, so there’s that, but the overall story is pretty good. The narrators are good when doing their own gender, but… the female narrator made every male character sound like Bart Simpson, and the male narrator made every female sound ditzy, scatterbrained, incompetent… even the female police officer watching the kids. Total space cadet, and this kinda ruined a lot of the story for me.

Ms Shapiro writes very mysterious mysteries!
Revisado: 01-02-25
I have to admit the mysteries are very hard to figure out!
Gemma is pretty clever, and Inspector Bell owes her a lot lol. However the complete resistance of Every Single Character is getting old. Did people really not care about finding murderers and bringing them to justice? Ms Church’s spot on narration maybe is too spot on, haha, because I can’t take any more whiney obstacles to Bell’s investigations.
I listened to these first three all in a row. Glad there were no murdered unborn babies in this last story! Also no preview of the next story, which is fine with me lol.
I’m going to take a break for bit, but overall I like and am invested in the series.

Historia
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

This was horrible
Revisado: 12-24-24
Although both narrators did an excellent job, this was the worst alternating narrative I have ever had to listen to. The story also was tedious. After listening about three hours, I skipped to the last 37 minutes. even with getting the answers, I was still gritting my teeth.

And his sister, unconventional nurse Gemma Tate, tracks down troubled police inspector Sebastian Bell to unravel the truth. Sebastian has enough pressure to solve the murder of an aristocratic heiress without Gemma meddling in his case. But the cryptic sentences she brings him from her brother’s notebook could be a crucial lead. If only they knew what “milky way” meant.

Seemed like it was slow to start, but it picked up. Some of the whispering was hard to hear. Ms Church’s dramatics take a few chapters to get used to but she really is very good. Going to listen to the next book!

Intriguing mystery
Revisado: 11-23-24
The story was interesting, although I do get confused with all the double names of nobility… and some of the ancient history of England. The female narrator of course did excellent females and the young Tom, and acceptable male voices. I think the recording was a bit off as some places were hard to hear. Almost gave up because of this but the mystery was enough to keep me to the end. I did do a lot of eye rolling though at some of the “romantic” prose.
