Historia
When Aurora Bennett witnesses a murder by a ruthless Los Angeles crime boss, she ends up stuck in her apartment like she’s the one who committed the crime. Then a sexy new neighbor moves in, and he’s just the sort of bossy, broad-shouldered male that makes her crazy—in more ways than one. Devon Whitestone can’t tell his neighbor Aurora the truth—that he’s actually a personal bodyguard hired by her brother, the owner of Bennett Security. Rule number one: don’t touch.

Aurora’s behavior is disturbing to me
Revisado: 04-19-25
Story went from 5 stars to 3 stars because of Aurora’s disgusting behavior towards Devon. She had no respect for his decisions whatsoever. It doesn’t matter what someone’s reason for not having sex is, if they say they don’t want to you need to respect that. Just because someone is physically attracted to you and gets turned on by yo doesn’t mean they want to have sex with you. He had moral reasons for not wanting it and she didn’t respect that and kept trying to push herself on him. If roles were reversed, people wouldn’t find this acceptable.

Madison was too immature
Revisado: 04-17-25
Madison was way too immature for Ephraim. She was so annoying and threw huge tantrums for a large part of the book. I don’t expect that from someone who supposedly had to work hard and raise her younger siblings.

Historia
It's been a long 17 years but Herschel Wood, Jr., is finally a free man and he's looking forward to reconnecting with his old cellmate, Bishop Stockley, who promised him a place to stay and some help getting back on his feet. Trent Armstrong has never been considered a catch. He's a 29-year-old laborer, an ex-con, and not the easiest person to get along with. He's used to being the one people cast to the side when they're done with him. Everyone he's ever cared about has walked out of his life without a backward glance, so he's used to the loneliness.

Not a fan of Trent
Revisado: 04-08-25
I loved the first book, but I was turned off by Trent in this one. I was sick of his poor me attitude. He kept saying how everyone always left him and no one stuck around, when he had Bishop there all the time helping him. He is the one that pushed Bishop and Edison away whenever they wanted to do things with him. Bishop and Mike did so much for him, yet he acted like nobody was ever there for him. Then when someone else was struggling, he made everything about himself and wasn’t there for people when they needed him. He never appreciated anyone for what they did for him. He wanted everyone’s attention full time, and was jealous whenever anyone had something else going on. I struggled to get through portions of the story because of Trent’s attitude. Wood’s story was so heart wrenching, but it was overshadowed by Trent needing attention constantly and making everything about him.

Sounds like a tacky wall-art quote to me. But what do I know? I don’t have a family. Not anymore. And I definitely don’t know loyalty. Not since my brothers collectively decided to shut me out of their lives... Not since my mother lied to me and kept a devastating secret... Not since my father sold our company out from under me to a smug jerk with a chip on his shoulder.

TOXIC
Revisado: 03-14-25
There are so many things wrong with this story. If this were a MF story, it would be considered toxic and abusive. How can people possibly think this is ok? One person holds all the power and uses it to his advantage, while the other is just struggling to get through life. Mitch is made out to be the villain by things he has done in his past, but Gideon is absolutely repulsive with his better than everyone attitude and judgment thinking he knows people when he knows nothing about them. The workplace confrontations would never be acceptable in real life. I’m not a fan of big power imbalance in relationships and Gideon takes the power away from Mitch at every interaction. Mitch needs to realize he’s worth more than being belittled every time they’re around each other. Even when Mitch tries to stand up for himself, Gideon uses his physical strength to get him to submit. Gideon knows Mitch is suffering from depression, yet continues to belittle him, takes way all his power and brings him down. I’m not a fan of shaming and being called a slut during sex either.

Not a fan of female narrator
Revisado: 02-28-25
I didn’t really like Cami for Aiden. I’m having a hard time feeling the connection between the 2 MCs in these books and I’m thinking it might be the narration. I’m not a fan of the female narrator. She always sounds insecure and on the verge of a breakdown so maybe it’s the narrator causing me to not really like the female characters. There’s nothing that’s really irritating about them I just don’t connect to them.
For those that say Aiden treated Cami badly, he treated her exactly as he said he would treat her, and pushed back when she crossed the lines he drew. It was a boundary he made clear and she said she was ok with, but then kept pushing thinking she could change that. So in my opinion she didn’t respect him. I just felt like their relationship was forced.
I felt Bentley and Emmys connection more in this book than the last one.
I’m fully invested in the relationship of Bentley, Aiden, and Maddox. I love their friendship and the respect they have for each other. I prefer the parts of the book that focus on the 3 of them.

Not quite a hit for me
Revisado: 02-28-25
I really wanted to like this story and I can’t quite figure out why it just didn’t work for me. I just couldn’t feel the connection between the 2 MCs. I was more interested the friendship of the 3 guys than the romance of Emmy and Bentley.

Historia
Our relationship was such a cliche. Friends to lovers. High school sweethearts. Then...driven by insecurities, I broke Grady Ryan's heart. I was weak, afraid to love, and even more afraid to be loved. There are secrets I've kept buried, but I can't forget what we once shared. I've been given a second chance, and this time I'm prepared to fight for him.

Not for me
Revisado: 02-27-25
I’m not a fan of second chance romances, but it had good reviews so I thought I’d give it a try and sorry I did. There’s always so much hurt and drama caused by one of the characters making a selfish or immature decision. I get angry by all the time lost and pain suffered. Then they come back saying they made a mistake and want to be forgiven and want the person they betrayed and hurt to love them again. Sometimes I wish they’d just say, sorry it’s too late, you’ve done too much damage and I can’t forgive you. I couldn’t root for the MFC.
If you like second chance romances, you might love this, but it’s not for me.

Couldn’t stand FMC
Revisado: 02-26-25
Seriously please authors, can you write an FMC that isn’t so despicable? I’m getting so angry that I can’t find any good books because all the FMCs are so annoying and immature. What Paige was doing is absolutely sexual harassment. How does this author think that’s ok or sexy or whatever she was trying to accomplish with her disgusting behavior. How did this get so many good reviews? She was so immature and had no respect for Logan whatsoever. He was supposed to be resting due to an injury and she caused more chaos in his house than if there wasn’t another adult in the house causing him not to be able to rest his injury. She was basically like another child for him to take care of. She is the worst role model for those kids.

Life isn't always fair, and that's something that Llewellyn Gardner knows about firsthand. His life was on the fast track until one night of extreme passion changed everything. Now eight years later, he's still living with the aftershocks of that night. Everywhere he turns or runs, there's another reminder. What the hell do you do when you try to drown your demons only to find out they can swim?

Completely turned off by heroine
Revisado: 02-21-25
Abigale is not a likable character at all. I cannot like someone who has no hesitation at all about using someone’s pain and misfortune for her own personal gain. She completely betrayed him by using their relationship that he thought was genuine to find information. She didn’t care what consequences her actions would have for someone she supposedly cared about and his daughter. How heartless can someone be.
