Historia
Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has been there only a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.

Boring Political Nonsense
Revisado: 05-20-23
If I wanted Political Propaganda I would have read my political books from school. The first 3 books were fantastic because they told a story with likable characters. Unfortunately, the last 2 books, including this political trash basically killed this series. I will NEVER listen to a Jack Carr book again. As an Author Jack should know expessing your political or religious beliefs/viewpoints in a story with disagreeable content can lose him 50% or more of fans. Just sucked! Boring as hell with political propaganda shoved down my throat. I want my credits back.

Historia
Two months ago, he challenged the Director of the CIA to war, and it’s been radio silence since. Unable to return to the family he loves, he steels himself for the first strike, which D/CIA Jack Raynor delivers in the unlikeliest of forms. Then it’s all-out carnage in dreary Iowa. But in the heat of battle, whispers make their way to Slater’s ears, rumors of an all-powerful puppet master. He hears a moniker, "The Golden One," the name of a faceless serpent who shapes the country from the shadows.

Kept me listening! Didn't even realize it was the second book for these characters until over half way through the book. Could have built the bond of the characters a bit more but ok to listen to for a short story.

Revisado: 01-20-23
Out of all the heroes The Grey Man and Orphan X are the best! The book kept me listening even after bedtime. I love how Orphan X thinks and I wish he had a better days after but suffering leads to new answers and thus the story must go on.

Historia
King and Slater are independent operators, outlawed from their government for good, free to deliver vigilante justice. Las Vegas, with its murky history and seedy underworld, serves as the perfect hunting ground. Below the hedonism, away from the bright lights and alluring fantasy, there’s an entrenched web of corruption. They offer their services to a woman about to serve a decade in prison for a crime she didn’t commit, and what begins with the infiltration of an unlicensed club in Chinatown unravels into an all-out war against retired cops and bent judges.

Mostly kept me on the edge of my seat!
Revisado: 07-25-22
I've been stuck on this series since the beginning. Always action packed but this book focused on their human side. Throw in a few damsels in distress and you have an action packed killing crew making sure their loved ones were ok.
They did a fantastic job of tying all the knots and moving forward to Vegas! This book is for those who like good vs bad...and like gruesome fighting never knowing who will win each fight. Last thought, I felt like the beginning of the series King had the accent and Slater vise versa and struggle with the narrator because I feel like the accents get mixed.
