Historia
History knows me by many names. Nyx, the Goddess of Night. Lilith, the Lady of Darkness. Selaphiel, the fifth angel of God. But the course of my life has been determined by my greatest mistake. I opened the gate, and allowed Lucifer to fall. Booted from Heaven for my sin, I serve my penance as a reaper. By collecting history’s most twisted souls, I work to one day earn my ticket home. Case #663. The heinous crimes of Jack the Ripper are known throughout the ages, yet his true identity remains shrouded in mystery. Who he is, I don’t care. It’s reaper versus Ripper.

The book itself was a story of original twists that I was glued to from the first page. So when I saw it was in audio, I had to get a copy and see if the narrator was the cherry on the sundae or a discordant note in a beautiful song.
I'm happy to say Poopy's narration so ideally enhances the story in ways I can't even describe without spoiling it to be readers/listeners.
But I will say her lilting accented voice was so nice to the ears, I'll be seeing what other books she's lent her skills to.

Historia
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

fun listen
Revisado: 08-16-21
I watched the Netflix version so I decided to listen to the book itself. There's many similarities and many differences. I quite enjoyed both in their own way and will likely consume both forms again and again
Mr's Pratchett and Gaiman are wonderful world creators that make the story come alive.
Martin Jarvis did an excellent and superb job reading that I could easily sink into the story, escaping the mundane tasks I was working on or helping me get through an anxiety causing thunderstorm.

Historia
For Milo, everything’s a bore. When a tollbooth mysteriously appears in his room, he drives through only because he’s got nothing better to do. But on the other side, things seem different. Milo visits the Island of Conclusions (you get there by jumping), learns about time from a ticking watchdog named Tock, and even embarks on a quest to rescue Rhyme and Reason. Somewhere along the way, Milo realizes something astonishing. Life is far from dull. In fact, it’s exciting beyond his wildest dreams.

A classic from my past with a new twist
Revisado: 07-13-21
I loved the story when I was a younger soul and listening to Rainn Wilson, who by the way turns out to be an excellent voice artist, read it to me while I was crocheting was a treat I couldn't have imagined.
The journey back with Milo, seeking the princesses Rhyme and Reason, the way each character has their own voice and in such a way that I can see them in my mind..... it's beyond delightful. I'll be relistening again when I need the nostalgia

Historia
Porschia Grant is in Frenzy. The hunger is constant. It's all-consuming, as is the pain and sickness. Something went wrong when she turned. Perhaps it was the fact that an infected bit her moments before, or maybe it's something else entirely. One thing is certain, if Porschia can't learn to feed, she will die.

Book two and plot twists abound
Revisado: 02-19-20
The book starts with facing the plot twist cliffhanger from book one and yet leaves you gasping for more as you reach the other end.
i can't even begin to explain how much and why i loved this addictive and perfectly paced story without potentially spoiling anything.
But if you like vampires or zombies (not the gross graphic world war z ones but more like Disney meets pvz) or dystopian books. Or anything by Casey you need this series. Start at book one though for full enjoyment.
And the narrator is perfectly suited. She makes it easy to tell characters apart as well as emotion and keeps a good pace going.

Historia
When the Infected attacked, something horrific happened to Porschia Grant. Porschia in Frenzy was scary; Porschia with hallucinations is terrifying. There has to be a reason, and there must be a cure for the episodes refusing to release her from their tentacles of insanity. Saul is in the center of the city surrounded by secrets. Some are damning, some are eye opening - others might just offer hope and be worth fighting for. How can a person justify the possibility of infecting another human being?

Third book is perfection in the series
Revisado: 02-19-20
This entry in the series ended without the plot twists of the previous two but yet allows for the series to continue. Almost as if Ms Bond were waiting to see if it'd be a trilogy or needed something extra.
The plot twists in the story were extraordinary and i felt bereft every time I had to put the story away to deal with real life. I didn't see the story between Portia Roman Tage and Saul or the one between Portia and Mercedes to unfold the way they did. Some characters redeemed themselves in ways I could never have guessed and others damned themselves in ways that truly shocked me.
Amanda has a wonderfully talented voice where I can picture and distinguish characters as well as emotion. She's quickly becoming a beloved narrator as much as Casey is a beloved author.

Historia
After the world was ravaged by a viral apocalypse, Blackwater is one of the only colonies that remains. The survivors came together to create this safe haven. Nestled between a fierce river and a city's flood wall, the well-being of its residents hangs on a long-established treaty with the night-walkers. Sounds simple enough, but lately, the people of Blackwater have been dying, and the humans believe the night-walkers are to blame.

love the author & narrator nailed this book
Revisado: 01-22-20
I've always loved reading Casey's books but listening to the audio was so much more lively. I was hooked from the start and the way the plot twists roll out always made me sad when I'd have to leave the book to do stuff. Especially the last few chapters....oh my stars. i need more

Historia
I found myself in a dimly lit dungeon, chained to a wall, and surrounded by other women sharing the same fate. We had to expect the wolves would strike back though. We started it after all. Humans; we always make the same mistake. "If we don't strike first, they will." Well, they struck second. Now, I was to be given away like a Christmas present to some dragon lord, beasts that the outer-space wolves respected for their might and strength. I was already scared and confused, but when I saw him...

Can't wait to listen to more
Revisado: 09-15-19
David Maxwell was a wonderful narrator to this. His female voices are on point showing femininity and yet tons of personality. His voice was very soothing and yet engrossing. I'd love to hear more and hope he narrates the rest of the series.
The fantasy story grabbed me from the early pages and held me on, leaving me wanting to hear/read the next story in the series. Luana is a strong fierce heroine and Balen was a very sympathetic caring hero.
When i first heard of the tradition of the bed wife i was as angered as the heroine but listening to the way that he cared for her and as she started to love him, I warmed to them. I can't wait to see how the suspense unfolds.

Historia
Layla has never belonged to the fairy realm - at least, half of her hasn’t. She’s never known anyone with human blood, not even her father. When she was three, the dragon Fauth attacked the fairy festival, murdering her fae mum & stepfather. Frankly, some fairies think she should’ve been eaten too. As she grew, despite being called names like “fuman” for being a half-blood, she’s discovered that being half-human isn’t terrible. She may lack magic, but she is immune to iron sickness, and she can wield a sword with elven skill.

Very interesting tale that had me engrossed from the start. The narrator's Scottish brogue added an extra layer of both realism and enjoyment.
Characters are well fleshed out and plot runs smoothly. I can't wait to go listen to book two.
