Historia
Ready for your next audiobook? How about almost 40 hours of non-stop action, brought to life by award-winning narrator Kevin Pierce? A corrupt president...A world without power...A handful of survivors battle impossible odds in the madness. Follow a cast of unforgettable characters as they navigate a societal collapse that threatens their very existence. These three pulse-pounding tales paint a harrowing portrait of a frighteningly plausible future, and are sure to keep fans of A.G. Riddle, Hugh Howey, and Justin Cronin resisting to pause long into the night.

The most creative battles
Revisado: 09-05-24
Based on a series of solar storms that impact the entire Earth, the Disruption plunges society into chaos and darkness. The usual response ensues - gangs and politicians surge out of control while most people try to just survive.
The battles are epic MacGyver/A-Team scrambles and the characters are well developed and interesting.
Kevin Pierce is in my top five favorite narrators so this omnibus was an overall great listen.

Historia
It’s a hot and sticky Sunday in Lafayette, Louisiana, and Glory has settled into her usual after-church routine, meeting gamblers at the local coffee shop, where she works as a small-time bookie. Sitting at her corner table, Glory hears that her best friend—a nun beloved by the community—has been found dead in her apartment. When the police declare the mysterious death a suicide, Glory is convinced that there must be more to the story and, with her reluctant daughter in tow, launches a shadow investigation in a town of oil tycoons, church gossips, and a rumored voodoo priestess.

Beware - Chapter 10
Revisado: 02-24-24
Contains vivid descriptions of dogs, and I quote, ‘screaming in pain and being ripped apart’ in a dog fight while men stood around betting and laughing. The loser is described carrying his lifeless dog away. It’s utterly disgusting. I stopped listening at that point and am returning this filth.
This is what is called lighthearted? Really?

Historia
Among the workhouses and pudding shops of South London, Private Detective William Arrowood is presented with far grittier, more violent, and considerably less well-paid cases than Sherlock Holmes. Arrowood has no doubt who is the better detective, and when Mr. and Mrs. Barclay engage him to find their estranged daughter, Birdie, he’s sure it won’t be long before he and his assistant, Barnett, have tracked her down.

Tedious, boring and improbable
Revisado: 05-29-23
Is the main character supposed to be so ridiculous and ignorant? Is this a ‘gritty’ parody? I got halfway through and just couldn’t take the silly incompetence of Arowood a minute more. I tried, but no.
Narration was very good though. That’s the only reason I stuck with it as long as I did.

Entertaining
Revisado: 01-18-23
I’ve liked some of Thomas Perry’s other books better and have read most if not all of them more than once as well as having them in Audible.
I listened to this newest book on Audible and finished it in a day. It’s a good story. I felt that some of the sparkle and oomph that I like in past books was not present in Murder Book. It just felt a bit flat.
I think that’s partly due to, in my opinion, an overly witchy ex-wife character. Her nastiness was hard to take and was a drag on the mood of the book.
But having said all that, Thomas Perry is one of my long time favorite authors and I was happy to start my day with his newest, Murder Book.

Historia
A man is savagely murdered outside Portland, and Detective Mason Callahan finds blood-spatter evidence that tells a troubling story. Files reveal the murder victim, Reuben Braswell, was a radical conspiracist. In his home, investigators find pages of diatribes against law enforcement as well as ties to Mason’s fiancée, FBI special agent Ava McLane. The victim was her informant - and had strong reasons to be paranoid.

The ‘Dales’ ? No, it’s the Dalles
Revisado: 01-17-23
Learn to properly pronounce the place names please! It DOES matter!
In Oregon it’s Wil-LAM-ette, accent is on the middle syllable Wil-LAM-ette River, Wil-LAM-ette Valley, etc.
In Illinois and Canada it's pronounced Will a-METTE so it's easy to see why that mistake is made, but still, one of the reasons I was drawn to this book is because of the place and my familiarity with it.. So please instruct the reader to pronounce words correctly. It's not too much to ask. If I was getting paid for a service I would certainly take more pride in it.
And the twin thing? I’m supposed to take Ava seriously as a professional but she can’t take herself seriously? I’ve known several twins and they’ve all been able to differentiate themselves. In fact, they want to. Ava, as a law enforcement officer, tolerating her twin's outrageous offenses, is frankly an insult to your readers' intelligence. Please, leave the weak drama behind. Your readers are smarter than this.

Historia
While running in Central Park, New York Times science writer Damon Ellis crashes—literally—into a story that just might resurrect his career…and change the course of human history. On the face of it, it seems absurd—a small biotech company in Boston called Calypso that claims to have cracked the secret of eternal youth. Surely a hoax. Or is it?

This was well-made and left me smiling at the end. The voice actors were all easy to listen to and I was engaged and interested from beginning to end. Definitely recommended.

Historia
From the moment that Jeeves walks through Bertie Wooster's door, Bertie gives up running his own affairs and lets Jeeves take charge. Whether it's the color of a tie, the style of a hat or a coat, Jeeves is always right. He is there to depend on in times of trouble, and such times are frequent in the lives of Bertie and his friends. Whether it's Corky's artistic career that needs boosting or Bingo Little's gloom that needs lifting, Jeeves can always be relied upon.

Boring stream-of-consciousness twaddle
Revisado: 09-05-22
Audio Book review: I tried, based on reviews, but for Pete’s sake what a crashing crushing bore! Jeeves is Mary Poppins for a grown up British Peter Pan with no redeeming qualities, and who gives not one tiny bit of reader enjoyment in his hum-drum self-referential tedious wordiness.
Apparently there’s a TV show - I’ve never seen it and after enduring too many hours of this droning dreck I never will.
As for ‘hilarious’ - my aged purse-lipped great aunt has afforded me more light-hearted moments. I think I laughed 3 times in the 6 hrs this audiobook dragged on.
