Lestrade realized abruptly that he was not alone. He turned to face his assailants. Outnumbered, he braced himself for an unfair fight with no delusions of winning. Light glinted off metal as one of the men drew a blade, and Lestrade realized that he was in for more than just a beating.

Outstanding story…

First of all, the story is spectacular and truly does transport you to 19th century London. I love the banter between the Yarders, and the characters are well developed. Absolutely delightful!
However, the narrator is dreadful, plain and simple. Tone is terrible, character voice is inconsistent, and he changes character names within the same scene. I hope better talent can be obtained for future stories from this author.
