Historia
For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

It took a while for me to get into it.
Revisado: 06-28-15
I think I may have been almost halfway through when I really began to care about where this book was headed.
It's well written, well read, the story gets interesting, and the book has a greatly appreciated authentic feel about it. I just can't give it 5 stars because the whole time I wanted some action. This is absolutely not the intention of this book, and it would have helped if I had done more research before starting it.

Not what I was expecting
Revisado: 06-02-15
I suppose my primary issue with this book was what I feel is an erroneous portrayal of what is supposed to be Japanese culture. I'm no expert by any means, but I had a hard time believing the characters would act the way they did in Feudal Japan. However, I don't believe the book ever explicitly claims its setting to be in Japan, nor does it use words like Samurai or Bushido, or even Christian. However, the correlations are clear and that's what ultimately irritates me.
If I could put that disappointment aside, I think the book is just fine and probably quite enjoyable for those who aren't interested in a level of historical accuracy.

Freemasonry is a fraternity within a fraternity- an outer organization concealing an inner brotherhood of the elect. Before it is possible to intelligently discuss the origin of the Craft, it is necessary, therefore, to establish the existence of these two separate yet interdependent orders, the one visible and the other invisible.
