Historia
Nate Wilder suffers from panic attacks triggered by news reports of world catastrophes even when, rationally, the events should not affect him. Nate becomes a prepper to help him cope with the anxiety, stocking a makeshift shelter. So when nuclear disaster actually strikes home, Nate must employ truly heroic courage or fold to his fears. But in the aftermath of the bombs, it quickly becomes apparent that surviving the attack is just the beginning - there is far worse yet to come.

Solid story!
Revisado: 07-19-15
It was a good story, and it flowed very well. Seems like it ended too soon for it not to be a series. " What happened to all the people... How did they recover" was how I left the end of the book.

Historia
“It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born". An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued, and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape - but he can’t stop society’s collapse.

Yes. I was a great read that took the time to develop the characters, but didn't feel like it meandered too much.

The whole scene at the church with the nuns and the zoo.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the agent decided to save the little girl, despite knowing the personal risks.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me want to get the next one.

Historia
The year is 2016, and America is no more. The United States, Canada, and Mexico now comprise a single, unified front to the world: the North American Union. Implanted ID chips are soon to become mandatory for every citizen of the NAU, and Trez Sleighton, a disgruntled ex-Army officer, takes to the mountains of Colorado to come to terms with the changing world-and his own hand in the whole mess. Then sounds the trumpet. Around the planet, people simply disappear.

Historia
For decades, December 21, 2012, has been a touchstone for doomsayers worldwide. It is the date, they claim, when the ancient Maya calendar predicts the world will end. In Los Angeles, two weeks before, all is calm. Dr. Gabriel Stanton takes his usual morning bike ride, drops off the dog with his ex-wife, and heads to the lab where he studies incurable prion diseases for the CDC. His first phone call is from a hospital resident who has an urgent case she thinks he needs to see.

S-L-O-W start, but it did pick up!
Revisado: 09-24-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The beginning was very very slow. All the science stuff makes for a dull start!
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Not surprised, since we all know the basic premise.
Was 12.21 worth the listening time?
Yea
