Historia
Norman Mailer's Pulitzer Prize-winning and unforgettable classic about convicted killer Gary Gilmore now in audio. Arguably the greatest book from America's most heroically ambitious writer, The Executioner's Song follows the short, blighted life of Gary Gilmore who became famous after he robbed two men in 1976 and killed them in cold blood. After being tried and convicted, he immediately insisted on being executed for his crime. To do so, he fought a system that seemed intent on keeping him alive long after it had sentenced him to death.

It’s long
Revisado: 01-14-25
The writing and story are top notch. Could have been written in 1/2 as many words I’d say. It goes on and on and on…

The narration is excellent
Revisado: 11-12-24
So many good stories are ruined by poor narration. This is definitely not the case here. I can’t overstate how well this novel was read. I’ll be looking for other stories she has narrated. Just terrific. The story is exciting and emotional. The best listen in 2024 for me

Sloooooow
Revisado: 10-22-24
I’ve really enjoyed her previous novels. This is a miss for me. The narration is quite solid and it’s a great premise but it was quite boring. If you don’t care about the characters it’s hard to love the book.

Great narration
Revisado: 07-28-24
This has little to do with Point Break. There’s surfing in both, that’s all. This is a very well told story with great narration, two rarities with audio books. This held my attention from start to finish. I’ll be purchasing Kem’s other books

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.
