Historia
In the winter of 1918, at the height of World War I, history's most lethal influenza virus erupted in an army camp in Kansas, moved east with American troops, then exploded, killing as many as 100 million people worldwide. It killed more people in 24 weeks than AIDS has killed in 24 years, more in a year than the Black Death killed in a century. But this was not the Middle Ages, and 1918 marked the first collision between modern science and epidemic disease.

Starts out very dense
Revisado: 06-23-20
I ended up returning this. It opens with very dense characterization and I found it uninteresting.

Hard to follow
Revisado: 06-22-20
This book came highly recommended, but I found the audiobook hard to follow. I don’t know if that’s because of the narrator, or because of the structure/storyline. Maybe reading it in print would’ve been more effective. In any case, I came away not really understanding the main points that the author was trying to make. It seemed very scattered to me.

Needs to be more clear this is a Christian book
Revisado: 01-25-20
I do not live my life according to a Christian mythology. This book, neither on the front cover nor prominent in the description, makes clear that it’s a Christian-based work. With many biblical verses.

Historia
Have you wondered why some 60-year-olds look and feel like 40-year-olds and why some 40-year-olds look and feel like 60-year-olds? While many factors contribute to aging and illness, Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn discovered a biological indicator called telomerase, the enzyme that replenishes telomeres, which protect our genetic heritage. Dr. Blackburn and Dr. Elissa Epel's research shows that the length and health of one's telomeres are a biological underpinning of the long-hypothesized mind-body connection.

If it’s bad for you it’s bad for your telomeres
Revisado: 08-27-19
I didn’t find this book particularly helpful. All the recommendations were obvious. If it’s generally known to be bad for you, it’s bad for your telomeres. I was hoping much more detail would be given to the scientific understanding of telomeres but that was marginally covered.

Couldn’t finish
Revisado: 07-01-19
I went into this book intrigued by Jordan Peterson and wanting to hear more about his ideas. After about halfway through I couldn’t take it anymore. With all due respect to Mr. Peterson he really should’ve hired a professional narrator. His voice comes off whiny and pretentious. The story is hard to follow and drags on and on. It’s like hearing a disappointed father rant for hours about life.
