Don't let the negative 'too political ' reviews deter you from this book. It is just as good as the first book and literally picks up right where the first one left off (instead of taking time to revisit where the previous book left off). Great continuation of the story, was hard to stop listening!

Great book!

I really enjoyed The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. When I listened to a sample of City of Girls before purchasing, it kind of reminded me of Evelyn Hugo which is ultimately what made me purchase this audiobook. After completing the book, there are definite similarities- I really enjoyed it. The narrator was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book.

Not my favorite..

Not my favorite book, probably wouldn't have finished it were it not for the narrator (she did an amazing job!). The book felt long, was kind of depressing and lacked direction at times.
