Historia
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

I loved everything except one inconsequential to most but HUGE to me! A year’s salary? For all she did? Big time skinflint! Ugh

Historia
It was an ordinary school day, the day I lost my little brother. One moment he was on the roundabout and then was gone. Gone. Missing. They all blamed me. I was in charge. Even though I was only ten years old. They sent me away. The hurt, the shame, the questions. The not knowing. I tried to move on. It’s been nineteen years in exile and now somebody wants me back. Someone with a dark secret.

Loved the story and the deep secrets that are so guarded in villages such as these. Tourists say “how quaint!” And they ARE but run much deeper than that bc villages are made up of complex beings.

Although not realistic it was a fun read. I didn’t guess who it was until mid-story which is pretty good!

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Good Mother - Bad Mother: Comparing and Contrasting Normal Mothering Behavior with the Behavior of a Borderline Mother

Historia
This book will discuss the traits of a good mother in contrast with the traits of a bad mother. It will cover real cases of mothers with borderline personality disorder and some of the cruel treatment they gave their children. The children of seriously ill borderline mothers often grow up with posttraumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizoid disorder, psychopathy, or narcissism. They can experience a wide range of physical and emotional conditions that are directly related to the chronic stress and the chaos that they lived through as children.

It’s too simplified and won’t help anyone
Revisado: 03-02-23
It was helpful in the sense that he pointed out all the elements of borderline personality disorder or narcissism. However, when he discusses the good mother, and things a good mother does, instead of stating that a good mother STRIVES to …He simply states THESE are the things good mothers do…then lists an impossibly high standard that no mother is able to achieve. He kind of sounds borderline of you are either very bad or very good. Good mothers will strive to do the things he lists but even good mothers make mistakes all the time. It’s kind of ridiculous how simplified it’s presented. Like another reviewer wrote, I felt I was reading a mag article.

Historia
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

I use these audibles while shopping for groceries and cleaning my house. They must be light and entertaining to overcome the humdrum parts of life. I prefer a book in my hand when reading Plato or Thomas Hobbes. This fits the bill nicely.

Historia
From the queen of white-knuckle suspense and searing family drama comes a harrowing glimpse into the real world behind the headlines. This is a novel of immense power and compassion - one that will move all who listen to it. Tina is a young woman hiding from her grief on the streets of the Cross. On a cold night in the middle of winter, she breaks all her own rules when she agrees to go home with a customer. What she finds in his house will change her life forever. The Boy Under the Table is gritty, shocking, moving and, ultimately, filled with hope.

Much better than I expected!!!-spoiler alert!!!
Revisado: 02-25-19
I liked the way the author introduced the real villain in this book. At first, You think this kid is so evil and you don’t blame her mother for being angry and scared at her daughter. But as the story goes on, you see how this mother enjoys needling this kid. Provoking her needlessly. Rubbing in any kind of victory she achieves by getting her husband to “side with her” Making her daughter feel powerless. she competes with her own daughter for the husband/fathers attention. Mom continuously thinks to herself how great it would be to be rid of Hannah and goes out of her way to cast herself as a loving mother and victim yet she gets great pleasure out of Hannah’s failures. Bc Hannah will not speak, mom will show her husband a side that isn’t genuine while looking over her shoulder and basically sticking her tongue out at her daughter. She’s horrible. The only part that I have a problem with is I’m not so sure as a dad I would throw away my daughter in favor of my wife without further investigation. In the end tho mom does win in getting dad to turn his back on her. Mom likes to tell herself it isn’t anything she did.
