Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Wonderful
Revisado: 03-13-24
I loved the whole story—the concept of dual lives, the details included in each life, the lessons learned, the maturing that happened with each choice. It’s a beautiful book and very healing for similar hearts. Many thanks.

Fascinating history
Revisado: 03-08-24
Such a fascinating weaving of experiences. Author Lynn Austin always teaches truth of faith in Gods love, grace —woven naturally into the characters lives. I’ve read many of her books and they always give me hope and desire to live better. Fighting for what’s right whether racism or ignorance in general, she shows us why and how to do and be our best charactered selves. The narrator was amazing. So many different voices—very convincing.

I won’t spoil the ending, but it’s breathtaking all the way through, really hitting to the heart of life. Brene should run for president.

I almost stopped listening early on because the narration was making me confused with all the changes and slowness.
But I’m so glad I stuck it out. It is a beautiful story of strength and love.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Life-changing
Revisado: 10-18-18
I started this book 3 times and finally pushed past the slow beginning to find a story so deeply powerful and emotionally quite draining.: women (and men) who gave so much for what is right and good, for their country, their families, and friends...true heroines/heroes. The story teaches how strong we can be no matter what we have to endure, and how much more valuable life and people are when “things” are taken away. Beautiful book of courage, forgiveness, and love. Keep tissues handy....very moving and sad in parts. Also of note, the narrator spoke very slowly, so I used 1.25x and it was perfect.
