Creating something from nothing is an unpredictable journey. The first mile births a new idea into existence, and the final mile is all about letting go. We love talking about starts and finishes, even though the middle stretch is the most important and often the most ignored and misunderstood. Broken into three sections with 100-plus insights, this no-nonsense audiobook will help you find your way through the hardest parts of any bold project or new venture.

It you want to work or at least start on your own, this book won't help you. There is a lot of theory, with some practical advice but more as concepts. Not recommending for a person, tiny teams...

Historia
In The Advertising Effect, respected advertising insider, Adam Ferrier, reveals the ten techniques used by some of the best-known brands across the globe. These techniques are grounded in psychological theory with award winning real world examples and explore how the most effective way to change behaviour is through action rather than the conventional advertising practices (emotional or rational persuasion).

Absolutely fantastic book.
Revisado: 07-31-15
To get it out of my chest first, the ending felt "slow and flat," like the authors didn't have a strong idea for the last chapter.
The narration is great and professional. At least I prefer that kind of narration. Very clear voice, great intonation and very consistent. Felt like it was read with 1 take.
The examples in the book are excellent. Probably you'll be familiar with at least half of them, if you're into advertising. However, I can guarantee you, that you have never looked at them from the authors' angle.
Great insight into the world of advertising campaigns, consumers' motivations and creation of relationships between brands and users.
This publication is so good, I actually ordered the physical copy, so I can mark the information I want to apply or gather more knowledge on.
Every single fact in this book is supported with either empirical research, scholarly papers and publications, or legitimate sources, which I'm very thankful for.
Must read for the professionals and advertising students.

Copy of "Getting Things Done," just worse.
Revisado: 12-12-13
Don't waste money and time on this one. Just buy "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. If you already know GTD, don't even look at this audiobook. This is waste of money and time. There is almost no practical advices. It is extremely boring. The narrator/author is so boring... She talks about some ideas like they are hers. Well, they are not. She simply copied few good productivity books (David Allen, Brian Tracy, etc.) and put it into one piece of boredom. And if you don't believe me, go ahead and waste time and money. People who gave more than 1 star have to be family or have to don't know about GTD. This audiobook was so bad that I even bothered to give my first review on audible, and I use audible from few years.

If you don't have anything better to listen...
Revisado: 05-07-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
It is very short. There is not much information. Very general, but, if you don't have anything better you can give it a shot.
Would you recommend How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends to your friends? Why or why not?
I won't recommend it to my friends.
Any additional comments?
The Dale Carnagie's book called "How to make friends and influence people" is muuuuuch more informative.
"How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends" is more like, "when you at the party, SMILE!" - really?
Dale Carnegie is going deeper, into psychology, the way of thinking, arguments, etc. Way better book.
I do not recommend "How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends."
