Awesome Narration!
Revisado: 11-20-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! I would DEFINITELY recommend it because the narrator's deep masculine voice added to the genre of story Shoshanna wrote. Didn't realize how much more value his read added to this post-apocalyptic dystopian genre until I heard him. He's the perfect narrator--as if the story was made for him to read aloud!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Pulse?
The scary parts were the most memorable, when the main protagonists were on the verge of getting caught. I guess that tells you how convincing the narration was!
Have you listened to any of John Lane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first time I've heard John Lane's performance and I am VERY impressed. He paused at the right times. He characterized the cast well, even the minor characters that were sprinkled throughout the book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I wanted to listen to the whole book in one sitting, even though I had to block off a good several hours.
Any additional comments?
So glad that John Lane could narrate the complete box set of the Pulse Trilogy!

Entertaining -- Drew Me Right In!
Revisado: 11-20-14
What did you love best about Beauty and the Beast: An Erotic Re-Imagining?
I've read this story way before I heard the audiobook. Next to the tight and quick-paced suspense that Shoshanna masterfully crafted, what I loved the most about this version is the animated voice of the narrator when personifying the characters!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I'm cheating. I'm choosing two characters--the antagonists in the story. They were hilarious! Today's modern version of a male cop coupled with a psych ward female, they both added to the suspense plaguing Beauty's father.
What about Christine Padovan’s performance did you like?
Her voice was clear -- no words slurred or hurried. Her personification of the characters was animated and easily drew me in.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Definitely laughed with the characterizations the narrator came up with to portray the different cast of people in the book!
Any additional comments?
Read it! Read the book first. Then listen to the audio version and you'll catch even more details, especially with the excellent narration!

Awesome Story, Great Narrator, Pulled Me Right In!
Revisado: 07-16-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely recommend this audiobook! Not only are the characters quickly drawn up and you feel for the protagonists, the plot also thickens quite nicely and unfolds with an awesome "Sexily Evers After" I typically find of Shoshanna Evers' works.
What did you like best about this story?
What I liked best about the story was how animated the narrator was in reading the story aloud. Even though I have read the story in ebook form before, I found it quite pleasurable to hear the audiobook and re-experience the story in this way. Being that this is my first audiobook ever, I am very pleasantly surprised and am opening up to the possibility of "reading" more ebooks in the future.
What about Scarlett Day’s performance did you like?
The narrator's pronunciation was clear, the pacing just right--not too fast and not too slow. Her animated voice made the characters very lively and made the story "breathe." Definitely a plus! I'd be eager to look for more of Scarlett Day's audiobooks.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Definitely made me laugh! Shoshanna's story is already funny. Scarlett's animated characterization of it makes it even funnier!
