Sobering assessment

With his intimate history in the Republican Party, Stevens is uniquely qualified to trace its evolution and the consequences for the survival or death of our democracy. Those who read the book should find his assessment credible and step up to protect our system of government, but I worry about the many U.S. voters who are too busy to think about the issues Stevens raises, and are focusing only on gas prices and inflation.

Nice to see an elected official capable of self-refection and making integrity a priority. Wish there were more like him. Maybe the missionaries should be sent to Congress.
