Historia
Actor David Suchet recalls his experience of playing Agatha Christie's world-famous detective, Hercule Poirot, for almost a quarter of a century. In the summer of 2013 David Suchet filmed his final scenes as Hercule Poirot. After 24 years in the role, he will have played the character in every story that Agatha Christie wrote about him (bar one, deemed unfilmable) and he will bid adieu to a role and a character that have changed his life.

An Excellent Experience
Revisado: 12-02-22
I enjoyed learning so many wonderful things about one of my favorite characters from when I was a boy and the man who brought him to life for us. As an actor, I loved to hear all of the stories along the way of projects David worked on and how fiercely he defended the honor of 'our little Belgian' when it was required. I thoroughly enjoyed David's way of narrating and intend on buying more of the books he reads.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet.

Very fun and well written
Revisado: 05-05-22
I wanted to listen to the book before watching the movie because I heard it was better. I was hesitant when I saw Wil Wheaton was narrating simply because I thought of the character as being Matt Damon but it only took a few minutes for me to picture him instead. I found it perfect with him reading it because, like me, he is a giant nerd. And since the main character is also a giant nerd...it was great. Wil has really good timing for jokes and gets very into the narration so it was a blast. The story was extremely well written and kept me on the edge of my seat as I drove with Mark on his Mars Rover trying to stay alive. I highly recommend it to anyone, though the language is rough so watch out with kids.

Predictable
Revisado: 04-30-22
I thought Barnaby Edwards' narration was just as great in this book as Mortal Engines, but the story was unfolding so predictably that I actually had to stop halfway through and didn't listen for two days before finally finishing out of sheer curiosity. The ending was exactly as I'd thought and seeing the synopsis for the next book I won't be listening to it. I love the world it takes place in and Philip Reeve's style, but I don't want to figure out in the first chapter what will happen through the whole book.

Historia
In 1914, they called it The Great War, and few could imagine anything worse. For nearly three decades, a peace forged in blood and fatigue has held sway in North America. Now, Japan dominates the Pacific, the Russian Tsar rules Alaska, and England, under Winston Churchill, chafes for a return to its former glory. But behind the façade of world order, America is a bomb waiting to go off. Jake Featherston, the megalomaniacal leader of the Confederate States of America, is just the man to light the fuse.

I couldn't get past the first chapter
Revisado: 03-24-21
Changing the narrator after 6 books in a series is a bold move. in this case, I can't handle it. Paul Costanzo's voice is pleasant enough but he doesn't change at all for voices and reads it all pretty much the same so my mind wanders. I sadly won't be finishing the series. Thanks Recorded Books.

A captivating story
Revisado: 02-13-21
I enjoyed this book as much as the others in the series too far, however the sex scenes are too graphic and close together. I wish he would have stuck to fade to black scenes like he did in several situations. Nonetheless, it's a great read, just be prepared to skip a head a bit every so often.
