Historia
Over a year ago, I was ripped away from my human village to serve the Ghertun, a brutal enemy alien race. With the lives of my family at risk, I am tasked to deliver a message to the one place no human has ever gone before: the capital city of Dakkar. Before I succeed, however, I am captured by a horde king. A horde king of the Dakkari, a merciless barbaric race bred for war and violence that rule over the hostile and unforgiving planet of Dakkar.

Best of first 3 for Me
Revisado: 05-06-25
This storyline in Book 3 was captivating, sensual and moving. I noticed a few rough audio cuts but that did not diminish my enjoyment of the story. Heartfelt, great character development, visually descriptive scenery and plot fostered empathy for all.

Good story line despite inconsistencies
Revisado: 01-24-25
I really enjoyed the story line, plots and the reading. There are some inconsistencies/sequencing issues with the overall storyline regarding the pregnancy, but it wasn’t enough to make you walk away. There is also some “skipping” issues with the narration in book two, I believe.

As a Potawatomi woman, she learned from elders, family, and history that the Potawatomi, as well as a majority of other cultures indigenous to this land, consider plants and animals to be our oldest teachers.

Eloquently thought provoking
Revisado: 08-30-24
Though for me the book was slow to get into, I found myself unable to put it down. The well-balanced convergence of storytelling, folklore, natural science and social science left me pondering about my own “place” on Earth; and who/how I think I am vs who/how I want to be.

Great storyline; LOVED the writers ability to use similes to describe and mentally illustrate; definitely had me scrutinizing “who done it” through the whole book. I would highly recommend this book.

Historia
From the elections of Barack Obama and Donald Trump to the tragic events of Ferguson and Charlottesville, the subject of race has come to the forefront of American consciousness. Legendary satirist D. L. Hughley offers his own cutting observations on this contentious issue that continues to traumatize the nation, a wound made more painful by the ongoing comments and actions of the 45th president. Hughley uses humor to draw attention to injustice, sardonically offering advice on a number of lessons, like "How to make cops feel more comfortable while they're handcuffing you".

Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

A Silver Lining Shining thru Chaos
Revisado: 02-07-23
I can’t believe I listen to the whole thing in an evening. It must take a lot to share so much personal tragedy and still be able to smile about it. Her humanity, humility, and ability to forgive was refreshing. I saw a lot of myself in some of her stories; equally I thought I was the only dumb one in the bunch when it came to relationships. Thank you for letting me jump on the ship with you!!
