Historia
Since the earliest known marker denoting the edge of one land and the beginning of the next—a stone column inscribed with Sumerian cuneiform—borders have been imagined, mapped, moved, and fought over. In The Edge of the Plain, James Crawford skillfully blends history, travel writing, and reportage to trace these borderlines throughout history and across the globe.

Historia
In the most ambitious one-volume American history in decades, award-winning historian Jill Lepore offers a magisterial account of the origins and rise of a divided nation. In riveting prose, These Truths tells the story of America, beginning in 1492, to ask whether the course of events has proven the nation's founding truths or belied them.

big mistake to choose the author as narrator
Revisado: 01-15-19
Jill Lepore has some very interesting things to tell us about the historical treatment of issues on the national stage today, but her voice is annoying, especially when reading direct quotations. Her high notes screech and passages in her low tones are too fast and can hardly be heard. Speed adjustments didn't help.
