Love the narrator and characters

I really enjoy listening to the Heathcliff Lennox series—Sam Dewhurst-Phillips does a fantastic job with the narration, bringing each character to life. This is the 11th book in the series, and overall, the story was engaging. That said, some of the recurring themes are starting to feel a bit worn, like suspects constantly questioning Swift and Lennox’s competence, or Swift’s overly pedantic references to Scotland Yard.

However, other familiar elements still feel fresh and charming—Mr. Fogg, Percy, Tubbs, and Lennox’s ever-loyal butler continue to add warmth and humor. The mystery itself was solid, and as always, the vivid descriptions of scenery, food, and fashion really enrich the experience. And of course, Heathcliff being his quirky, delightful self is always a highlight—though I still struggle to picture him as a blonde!

It really has a lot of good points. But...

Overall, I really enjoyed the story. However, having just listened to books 1 and 2, I found the constant repetition of certain points a bit much. The frequent references to Joanna’s brilliant detective reasoning, I am the daughter of Sherlock Holmes, —just like her father, how does she do it?—and to a lesser degree mention that her son is the spitting image of his grandfather felt a bit overdone. It was a lot of the same praise in each book. That said, I'm continuing with the series to see if the author makes any adjustments moving forward.

The stories are engaging and the narration is excellent. There was no a thing I disliked. It is a great cozy mystery,. If that's your genre, then this is for you.

It is a great deal for 1 credit.

This is definitely a good deal; 10 books for 1 credit. The books are pretty good, 3 star and the narration is a bit above 3 star. The stories were engaging enough and easy listening. What knocked off points for me was the inconsistent audio sound. Sometimes loud going to too soft to hear. Additionally, For me, the protagonist Harlow, was not easy to like. She was ok, but was a bit whiny, lacked courage and was a somewhat puny witch. But other characters saved the day, Adam the cat, Aunt Caz, Lous, the Mom's.

I found this book to be a little informative. The narrator probably did the best they could with the subject matter. But it does drone on. I hope to find a different book on sacred geometry soon.

Great story and well done narration.

This story is very engaging. The narration is incredible! What a great deal to have the 4 books for 1 credit. I love it when I can imagine the world and the people. Where I laugh out loud and the characters come to life. My only minor 'con' is some of the long winded descriptions of the internal emotions of Rowan. But, perhaps that is what allows me to build her character in my imagination. This is not the typical genre that I listen to, but I am very glad I did.

I love the Veronica Speedwell series and the narration brings the characters to life. My only critique is that the conclusion to the 'mystery' or story is sometimes a bit anticlimactic.

These books are cute and fill in the gaps between my credits. The narration is ok, not great variations that I remember. It is engaging.
