This beautiful book speaks to my soul
Revisado: 09-03-17
I will listen to this over and over again. If you enjoy sutra style writing/condensed language...you may connect with this too. regardless of the writing style, it is the beauty of the truths that we encounter every day that get artfully expressed in this treasure of a book.

Historia
In The Body Keeps the Score, Bessel van der Kolk transforms our understanding of traumatic stress, revealing how it literally rearranges the brain’s wiring - specifically areas dedicated to pleasure, engagement, control, and trust. He shows how these areas can be reactivated through innovative treatments including neuro feedback, mindfulness techniques, play, yoga, and other therapies.

Time Well Spent...
Revisado: 07-19-17
I am so glad I chose to purchase this book. It was very informative and interesting. The subject matter was intriguing and the future of neuroscience leaves me hopeful that someday the suffering trauma survivors endure will be more accessible to mitigate. I look forward to hearing this book again on round two, once I have a bit more time to process. If you are remotely interested in viewing humanity through a fresh lens, or are interested in the behavioral sciences...this will likely be a good fit.
