Historia
When the body of a missing tourist is discovered slain in the foothills of the Cuillin Mountain range, it falls to D.I. Duncan McAdam and his small team to discover how he came to be there and who would have a motive to kill him. The summer season is a welcome distraction following a brutal and challenging winter. The Isle of Skye is booming with a revitalised tourist trade after a tough few years, and the Misty Isle is on course for its best year for visitors on record. But one person has not received the warm greeting the islanders are famed for.

Great story and characters
Revisado: 03-01-25
I liked the characters, especially the continued development over the series. Love the performance! I struggle to get the Scottish brogue sometimes, but I love it!

Historia
Evangelical Christians are perhaps the most polarizing—and least understood—people living in America today. In his seminal new book, The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory, journalist Tim Alberta, himself a practicing Christian and the son of an evangelical pastor, paints an expansive and profoundly troubling portrait of the American evangelical movement.

Changed my world
Revisado: 08-14-24
This book challenged me greatly. At times I was annoyed, frustrated, angry, crying, and a whole host of emotions. I've never been very political, so it didn't speak to me so much in that aspect. (Other than being horrified by the hypocrisy of the "power" evangelicals. My term). I really think it changed my view of the Christian church. I hope I will be more focused on seeking His Kingdom, and caring about what Jesus wants me to care about. I would love to have a long coffee, then lunch, then meal, then further discussion over a drink with the author!

Wonderful!
Revisado: 04-10-24
This is not science fiction. Yes, it's fiction, and some science, but mostly it's a fascinating and complex story of man and society. Good and evil, and everywhere in between where most of us lie. Long, but worth it.

When fifteen-year-old Oscar Dreyer-Hoff disappears in this “masterpiece” (Booklist, starred review), the police assume he’s simply a runaway—a typically overlooked middle child doing what teenagers do all around the world. But his frantic family is certain that something terrible has happened. After all, what runaway would leave behind a note that reads:

Many moving parts
Revisado: 03-25-24
I hadn't read previous books in the series, so it took a while to catch up, but it can be read as a stand alone book. Overall, I enjoyed the book and the performer very much. There was a fair amount of characters, and while there were some red herrings, things came together nicely. I will read more.

Long and rambling.
Revisado: 01-18-24
I've never read Russian fiction, and read it because it is a friend's favorite book. I'm glad I stuck with it. At many times I thought 'just get on with it', but then found myself thinking about them often. The reader amazed me; so many characters with subtle variations in accent and emotion.

Unbelievable!
Revisado: 09-24-23
I know this is a work of fiction, but it is completely unbelievable! I liked the idea of the story, but all the things that happened were SO far fetched, and the actions of the characters just so incomprehensible. So many unlikely calamities occurred, that it just became laughable. I supposed a Gila monster attack could have been added..... I want to support Christian authors, but really, put more effort in the writing.

Decker does it again
Revisado: 04-30-23
Ted Decker always finds unique ways to reinforce that we live in a world within a spiritual realm. That fact, along with the fact that he writes entertaining books, are the only things predictable about him. (Well, at least his books. I don’t know him!). I liked the characters, and really had no idea what would happen. The story was great, and the reader did a nice job with various people and accents. I’d definitely recommend.
