Fantastic Finish
Revisado: 02-08-23
This was a great finish to a fantastic trilogy. I usually listen to a chapter or two before I fall asleep every night. The final several chapters to this one kept me up well past my bed time.
This is one of my favorite trilogies in all of the Dragonlance offerings.

One of the Best
Revisado: 01-29-23
Intrigue, mystery, high stakes…
This is the start of one of the best trilogies in all of Dragonlance, and as a lifelong fan, I do not say that lightly.
I first read Sanctuary back when it first published, and am just now getting around to the Audible version. I finished the listen in a weekend, so rapt was I with this story. It does a masterful job of showing the point of views of not only Gilthas Pathfinder, but the Lioness, and even the desert nomads. It lets you understand the stance of each.
This is probably the best trilogy outside of the writings of Weis and Hickman. Even ranking up there with them.
I was reluctant to read it initially, I mean…I’m pretty meh on the elves. But do yourself a favor and get this. It is a must read.

The souls of the dead rob the living of their magic. A dragon overlord threatens the very land the elves hold most dear. Great Story / Meh Narrator
Revisado: 01-21-23
I’m spoiled to good narrators. This is not one of them. Other than that. It’s a wonderful story and the characters are well written. I’ve been going hard on Dragonlance nostalgia here lately and this is a trilogy I only read once, so it’s not burned into my brain like the others. But yeah, great book.

Historia
The people of Krynn have known war in past ages. Some are still alive who remember the triumph of good at the conclusion of the War of the Lance. Still more remember the devastation of the Chaos War, which ended the Fourth Age of the world. But now a new war is about to begin, more terrible than any have known. This war is one for the very heart and soul of the world itself.

Great Story / Poor Narrator
Revisado: 01-15-23
This is an excellent tale, and I absolutely love Dragonlance. I found myself thoroughly engaged in the story. However, the narrator….she’s not so terrible that I couldn’t keep listening. But yeah, weird flow and pacing at times. Cringy pronunciations, and her voices for characters were sometimes detracting from the scene. But still, I listened to all 22hrs of the book, because it’s such a great story.

A New Addition
Revisado: 12-29-22
I’ve followed the Dragonlance Novels since 1984 and the debut of Dragons of Autumn Twilight.
This was an enjoyable addition to the world of my youth. The story kept my interest, though parts seemed rushed at times.
My primary complaint is the narrator though. Her pronunciation of some names would make me wince, and her voice acting of some characters was off.
In any event, I’m looking forward to the future installments of the trilogy to see just what trouble a certain kender and Lady Destina cause.

Just a Fun Time
Revisado: 11-12-22
This is no literary masterpiece. What it is, however, is an absolute enjoyable experience of a D&D game made into a novel. It has action, adventure, and will make you chuckle. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but tells a helluva tale along the way.

My Favorite Thus Far
Revisado: 08-28-21
Great story, and I think this is may favorite of Eisenhorn so far. I don’t wish to give spoilers, but the attack on his estate and the following chapters were exciting.
As always, the narrator is great, and his accents really made some characters come to the forefront.

Ok, this got me into podcasts
Revisado: 07-17-21
I’m generally nod a podcast listener, but, I was looking for something to listen to while I’m painting models or assembling them.
Forge the Narrative is becoming something I listen to now while I’m in the kitchen, laying down for bed, or just kicking back in my recliner with a Codex and cold beer.
Production values are good, the episodes are entertaining and informational, and I just enjoy it.
The only thing I would complain about is that I often listen to it on an Echo Dot. And, for whatever reason, Alexa tells me this podcast doesn’t support searchable playing. For example, I can’t say “Alexa, play Forge the Narrative Episode ###”. Telling her to play the podcast will only have her start the most recent one. Instead, I have to Bluetooth my phone to the Echo and click on an episode I want to listen to. Not a huge deal, but would love to have it voice controlled. But, that just may be an issue in the Amazon side, I don’t know.
I’d definitely have given 5 stars otherwise.
