1924. Lady Eleanor Swift and her butler Clifford are touring the great, ancient sights of Egypt on a much-anticipated extended vacation. But when the pair arrive at the docks in Cairo expecting to board the luxurious paddle steamer advertised in their brochure, they are baffled by the crumbling old cruiser waiting for them. Loved! Did not see that ending coming. The characters are so humorous and just perfectly represented by the reader.

Almost passed but glad I didn’t
Revisado: 05-14-24
At first Maude’s voice seemed too uptight, but Daisy balances and enhances the performance and the voices work well together. Love the story line and multiple plots that may or may not be connected.

Historia
Nora Harmon has a lot to be thankful for: two great kids, a stable marriage, and now, a dream career. Software consultant Jane Bell wants Nora on her team. She’s offering a fantastic salary, flexible hours, and a chance to travel the world. It sounds too good to be true, but Jane won’t take no for an answer. Jane acts more like a friend than a boss, and Nora’s personal and professional boundaries begin to blur. Jane is smitten with Nora’s perfect family—particularly her daughter—and far too attentive to Nora’s husband. Nora can’t help but feel insecure and unsettled.

Predictable yes, but…
Revisado: 03-01-23
As the reader can see what is going on with Jane, the true plot is how will the other characters realize and believe the situation. And what was that crazed superwoman going to do next. Will she ever be stopped. I enjoyed listening to the narrator as well. Voice characters were on point.

Historia
Christmas, 1923. Lady Eleanor Swift has received a rather unexpected invitation to the village Christmas party in the tiny, rural hamlet of Derrydee in the west of Ireland. Eleanor is thrilled about exploring her ancestral roots at her late uncle’s estate and spending the festive season in a castle. Packing Gladstone the bulldog’s coziest Christmas jumper, they set off to the Emerald Isle with her butler Clifford in tow. Arriving late at night, Eleanor and Clifford are shocked when they find a body sprawled in the snow on the winding country lane outside the estate.

I love this series!
Revisado: 12-21-22
The narrator was on point with her performance. I could see in my minds eye the characters. I love the relationships and of coarse Master Gladsten. Hurry with our next adventure!

Awesome!
Revisado: 10-27-21
I enjoyed that the story began with giving us insight of British Christmas tradition during that period. I almost forgot I was listening to a detective book. Queeny is one of my favorite characters. I can’t wait for the next book. And I how grandpa stays with Georgie.
