Historia
John C. Cremony was the first White man to become fluent in the Apache language. He worked for the US government, translating for military personnel across treacherous parts of the country. It was then that he first came in contact with the Apache people and went on to learn about their ways firsthand for nine years. He was personal friends with Chiefs Mangas Coloradas and Cochise, and he wrote of his adventures in dealing with the US Military and the Indian tribes of the Southwest.

Good storytelling

What I read about John Cremony and the veracity of his claims tainted my point of view of this book. However it isn’t written in a boastful or extravagant way. At least not to me. The style of writing is very 19th century, very wordy and formal. However, his observations of Apache culture were very interesting to me. It’s worth a read, you may not love it but you’ll probably like it. It shows its age for sure.
