Historia
Henry Winkler, launched into prominence as “The Fonz” in the beloved Happy Days, has transcended the role that made him who he is. Brilliant, funny, and widely regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood (though he would be the first to tell you that it’s simply not the case, he’s really just grateful to be here), Henry shares in this achingly vulnerable memoir the disheartening truth of his childhood, the difficulties of a life with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role that takes on a life of its own, and the path forward once your wildest dream seems behind you.

Henry Winkler Rocks!
Revisado: 02-22-24
This was a wonderful biography by Henry winkler. I really didn't know his story and was very moved by some of his challenges. I was a major Fonzie fan growing up so it was very cool to see where Fonzie ended and Henry began. He's a very engaged speaker and I really enjoyed this book. I liked how he taught about the growth he experienced after starting therapy in 2016 ish and how that therapy and addressing his issues really led to changes in how he faced the world and even in his acting ability.

Plodding
Revisado: 01-26-24
This book was okay but not as good as some of the other ones and just had a a feel of plodding through the story. I guessed the murderer early on and could tell when clues were being dropped. There is no suspense with these stories. No threat, fear or danger. Everybody basically gets along okay. Not handled with any kind of sensitivity or depth. I miss Donald Bain. I like this author better than Jon Land but there is just something that is missing here in terms of imbuing it with the Jessica Fletcher Spark

Much better than Jon Land!
Revisado: 09-04-23
So much better than Jon Land's attempts to capture Jessica Fletcher. Not quite as good as Donald Bain but much closer to hjs style. Very relieved to have Jessica Fletcher back! Recommended!

Revisado: 08-29-23
I listen to a lot of cozy Mysteries and I was thrilled to listen to this one! the characters are so engaging and the story is compelling. the narrator did an excellent job of voicing the different characters. and Vera Wong hands down an amazing character, so entertaining and having a depth and strengths and weaknesses and her own development along the way. I really loved this book!

Great story and narration!
Revisado: 06-02-23
I really enjoy this series! I appreciate the inclusiveness of the characters and really like the plot and story. I also like the meta discussions about stories and plot within the story. Mostly I enjoyed having a character with Asperger's because I have family members on the Spectrum and it was great to have that character treated so well and with so much understanding.

Way Too Long
Revisado: 01-30-23
this is an okay story with some good characters and some interesting situations. however it is way too long. this could be half this length and be much better. the pace is just so slow and drags on and on. also there's a lot of tell don't show going on where we hear repeatedly the same issues over and over and it really just gets old. I would cut out a lot of that inner dialogue and try to just focus more on the characters and their development and not have to pick apart every single minute detail of every single engagement.

Somewhat flat
Revisado: 11-14-22
I did not enjoy this book as much as some of the other ones. I really noticed how the relationship between Marcus and Kathleen seemed very flat. just no sparks or romance or sex. she basically engages with him like one of her cats. she seemed to be more flirtatious with Marcus's father than with him. there was more Chemistry Between Elliot and Kathleen between Marcus and kathleen. I know this series won't go in that direction but it's just an observation. Marcus is so stable and boring and there's just not any chemistry or dynamism between them. I liked it better when she was single.

Not one of her best
Revisado: 08-18-22
This book was okay but there were plot points and pacing that didn't always work. Some things were kind of tedious and went on and on and then others were just sort of rushed through. The whole final portion of the book felt forced and I didn't like how it went. The backstory for Mike was handled poorly and I wish it hadn't been there in the first place. There were some parts that were predictable and other parts where yiu didn't know what would happen. Overall it seemed uneven and didn't seem as tightly crafted as some of her other books.

Historia
In this transcendent memoir, grounded in tribal myth and ancestry, music and poetry, Joy Harjo, one of our leading Native American voices, details her journey to becoming a poet. Born in Oklahoma, Harjo grew up learning to dodge an abusive stepfather by finding shelter in her imagination, a deep spiritual life, and connection with the natural world. She attended an Indian arts boarding school, where she nourished an appreciation for painting, music, and poetry; gave birth while still a teenager; and struggled on her own as a single mother, eventually finding her poetic voice.
